Illinois 8th Congressional - A Race We CAN Win
Take a look at Melissa Bean, running in the Illinois 8th against Phil Crane. Crane is the longest serving Republican in the House, yet was passed over by fellow Illinoisan Denny Hastert for Chairman of Ways and Means. His poor record is an embarassment to everyone, including the R leadership.

Although a Republican dominated district, Melissa Bean received 43% of the vote in 2002 with no money and no national support.

A month ago The New York Times put this race in the Top 10 to watch and Congressional Quarterly took it off the R safe list.

Check out Melissa Bean at www.melissabean.com This is definitely a candidate who needs and deserves everyone's support. :)

2. She has my vote!
Crane is a long time sack of shit. He has held that seat since rummy left congress decades ago and has done NOTHING with it. He may be at the very bottom in the history of congress for time served with ruling party/influence within that party or anywhere else.

I have even had wild thoughts about running agains him. Thanks for the link! I may just get involved locally for the first time ever.

3. A not so "Small" task ahead in Iowa
All,

Excuse me for being just a bit outside on this subject, but I can not start a post of my own just yet. Perhaps one of you could be so kind as to do that for me?

Anyway, I wanted to point out a gentleman who is running for Senate against Grassley in my state of Iowa. His name is Art Small. He was a Clark supporter and very bright guy. Please check out his website and donate as much as you can.

Grassley has been in Iowa since before I was born. He is one of the trickiest repuklicans I have had the joy of living under, so please please do whatever you can!

Thanks,
Seth
