9. we don't know real love

Re: the sign that reads "Women need love, not abortion:" There's a pervasive assumption among fundamentalist evangelical Christians that all of the things they rail against have a common basis: the lack of love, "real" love as they define it. Gays have sex w/ same-sex partners because they don't know what real love is. Criminals can't help themselves because they've never been truly loved. Women have abortions because they have no one to love them. And it's all because these people don't know the love of God.

I doubt we can ever find a way to counteract this nonsense, because FECs refuse to entertain even the possibility that there is love in the absence of their God.
