Do you remeber during the 2001 Bush Campain?
Edited on Tue Sep-09-03 10:18 AM by Homer12
... Since GW lacked much expeirence in forgein relations and diplomatic strategy, as well as being deficent in many other ares of statesmanship, which was pointed out by the media during the 2000 campain cycle.

Yet.... The AM Radio hate-mongers and liers, and budding Conserv ative media mouth-pieces all used this, Neo-COnservative defense of this real lack of expeirence would be shored up by the fact that GW had a strong will and that his ability to pick the "right" people to fill the holes of his lack of expirence (lets say Colin Powell) (Regan parrells were drawn, although I must say that Reagan seemed to have a little more control over his administration than Batboy president we have now).

Well we on DU have seen, and non-DU Americans are now seeing, what can happen with a lack of intellectuall curiosity and real world expeirnce can have on a domestic and escepcially a forgein relations and policy.

1. Without the capacity or knowledge to deal with other contries we see GW taking his CUES and orders from the PNAC wing of the Republican party. GW ceeded his intellectual responsability to pro-activly make forgein policy descions and rather let DICK, DONNY, KRISTOL, PEARLE, RICE, and the rest make his descions for him. Regarding terrorism, etc...

2. Again on domestic spending he has surrounded himself with 1980's Reagan throw-backs making and trying to reserect teh dead idea of trickle-down supply-side economics.

3. Karl Rove (do I need say more)

- The limbaugh defense of less intellectual presidents that let others make the descions and thinking for him, will actually be a better President is as hollow as his lack of ethics. Presidents whom don't even know the basics of statesmanship and respect to other world leaders should ahve been warning enough.

- IN fact GW is more of a gambler when he makes any descions. I need 87 billion for elswhere????(duh)

Do you think that this defense will be used again in 2004?

Or do you think they'll say that GW for the past four years has
been in Forgein Relations school, the Dewy-Method learn by doing?

4. Kerry will be debating not just Bush
but Cheney, Rumsfeld, Powell, Ashcroft, Wolfowitz and all of those assholes in the same moment he faces Bush.
