Are Clark's supporters inflating his Meetups City #'s?
Someone on our Hoosiers For Dean list noticed that something strange is going on in...

"...the members lists for Gen. Clark at various cities in Indiana? Plug in Terre Haute and you find one member from T.H. and the rest from all parts of the country. Same for other cities. Try it. It looks like the same people are registering in many different cities."

This isn't an attack or a bash, but a serious inquiry.

2. Probably not

When a city has very few people for a meetup, it pads the list with random supporters from all over.

Happens with every meetup category.

on edit - I checked...Terre Haute only has one person signed up, so this would fall into the description.

7. Yep...
...I think there's a city in Scotland that doen't have enough Dean supporters for a meetup.

yes, there are dozens of cities abroad that hold meetups for Howard Dean.

4. yeah, it's a Meetup thing...
If you look at many of the candidates groups in small towns, you'll find the same thing...Meetup can be a great tool, but it does have it's quirks.

5. System glitch.Same thing happens for Dean Meetup, Del Rio TX
It lists the locals first, then the generic national list.

If you look at the members for Dean Meetup in Del Rio TX, which also consists of a lone person, who I assume talks to him or herself in Luby's, you find him/her/it padded with people who do not live anywhere near Del Rio.

Here's the page for the Dean meetup in Grand Bend, Kansas , which has 2 members, yet also shows members from TX, NYC, AZ, Boston, etc.

Just a glitch...
