FL: (Rep.) Boyd (D) abandons Senate bid
U.S. Rep. Allen Boyd of Monticello leaves the field of five Democrats waiting to see if Bob Graham vacates his Senate seat.

As U.S. Sen. Bob Graham takes his time pondering whether he will seek reelection next year, one of the Democrats hoping to replace him said Tuesday he just couldn't afford to wait any longer for Graham's answer.

U.S. Rep. Allen Boyd announced he would focus on fending off a Republican challenge to his Panhandle congressional seat and leave four remaining Democrats to sweat out the Graham guessing game.

''We have our own timetable,'' said Bob Doyle, a Boyd spokesman. ``It's time we put the uncertainty to rest from our standpoint.''

Graham, who abandoned his presidential campaign last week after he failed to raise enough money to compete, has told the Democratic Senate candidates that he intends to make a decision on reelection by next week.

I'm hoping Graham runs for re-election.

1. Yeah, I think Graham will have a fairly easy time
We need all the help we can get to stop this country's slow slide towards fascism!

2. I imagine that is one of the factors why Grahm punted when he did
to save some steam for re-election and go off the good will he had achieved in his brief run.

3. Please, God, let Graham run again
We have got to keep that seat!

Also, it would be sweet to have him campaign there with our nominee!
