I am scared of a Dean nomination
He is anti-war and far left which will result in us loosing all 50 states because he is angry and cannot connect with the mainstream American. We must get someone like Lieberman who has general election expierence and was consistently for the war. If you want to lose and see Bush get 4 more years vote for Dean, Kerry, Kucinich, Braun, Sharpton if you want to have a competitive general election elect Lieberman, Gephardt, Edwards, Clark.

I don't see Dean as angry..and if there is some pique over the War....well then, I'm in his boat!

You think Lieberman has general election experience and the others....so their views are all "known," then LOL's.....think again! You might need to do some research???

55. Lieberman Proposes Raising Taxes on Rich
Edited on Sat Oct-25-03 12:22 AM by w4rma
WASHINGTON (AP) -- In a break from the Democratic field, presidential candidate Joe Lieberman is promising to ensure that upper-income Americans pay more in taxes than they did before President Bush's record-breaking tax cuts.

Lieberman's proposal, due to be unveiled as part of a weeklong critique of Bush's policies, would at the same time reduce taxes for middle-class Americans, according to a senior campaign official.

The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said income tax rates will be restructured to achieve Lieberman's goal of shifting the tax burden to upper-income Americans. The official provided no further details on how the changes would affect middle-class taxpayers.

Lieberman's rivals have proposals repealing Bush's tax cuts for wealthy Americans, with most setting the bar at people with annual incomes exceeding $200,000. Two candidates, Howard Dean and Dick Gephardt, want to repeal all of Bush's tax cuts, including those benefiting middle-class Americans.

Note, I would wholehartedly support Sen. Lieberman's proposal. I'm not sure if it would be easy to campaign on though, I'd have to research that.

44. Your "message?"
You flatter yourself if you think your strung-together collection of knee-jerk wingnut code words is deserving of a thoughtful response. He's a socialist? Only a pro-war candidate will win? Is this the extent of your in-depth analysis? Why, you've obviously spent all of five minutes researching your opinions. When you come back with something worthy of my attention - but that's a pretty big 'if,' anyhow, innit?

Maybe if you scream "Socialist!" some more, you might scare up a few more undecideds for Holy Joe. Your puerile message - war good, socialism bad - is right out of Animal Farm. You're a bad parody of a great satire.

51. Uhm, I think the site you're looking for
is located at www.FreeRepublic.com. ;)

No, seriously though: if you somehow think that the Dems need to keep waging tiresome campaigns of "we're like the Republicans, but not quite as much" that continue to lead to losses at the state AND federal level, than go right ahead and support a Repub-lite candidate. If you want to give the death blow to the remnants of the New Deal coalition that made the Dems a party of the people, than by all means do so.

Just don't think for a second that the liberals and progressives who are the backbone of this party are going to let you get away with it.

36. Dean is my least favorite candidate
... but could we stop with this "he's unelectable" crap! Who the hell knows what is going to happen next year. Like I said, he is not my favorite, but it's pretty insulting to run around and say he's not electable against the morally bankrupt disaster we have right now in the White House. Personally I'd like to see a Clark/Edwards Kerry/Edwards, Edwards/Clark etc ticket, but I'm getting frustrated with the simple minded talking points around here ...

Clark: War-mongering PNAC closet repub
Kerry: War-supporting doormat
Dean: Can't win
Edwards: Too pretty

blah, blah, blah. They are all mentally and morally superior to the Shrub.
