Cable "News" is More of a Sad Joke Than Ever |
|
Political matters are now just a sideshow to showcase trials and inane fluff. It's gotten worse even over the past couple weeks. What the hell happened to Traitorgate? What about the 9-11 coverup? What about the trashing of our environment and the public realm for the benifit of BushCo?
I don't give a shit about Princess Di and Justin Timberlake. God dammit! What is happening to this country?!
We are asleep at the wheel.

1. there is no longer a news media in the US |
|
only corporate Pravda that is there to distract from any truly serious issues, hence the JLo Justin Timberlack and Kobi sagas endlessly droning on, mixed in with fluff fluff fluff.

Just the Cable Junk: CNN (Conservative News Network) MSGOP FNC(Facsist "News" Channel)
Tom Brokow and Peter Jennings are still good at giving us news! Also Ted Koppel on "Nightline" is excellent, this is the way journalism should be!!!
(edit) Bill Moyers on PBS and Watch the BBC or listen to BBC radio online!
The problem is that the Cable News Networks are on 24/7 spewing their Mengles style propaganda!

3. Yes! It happened when Chimp said Media was not showing good side of Iraq! |

MSNBC and CNBC combined studios (at least it looks like that) and revamped formats to "Fluff" all day all the time.
Now the "revamping" of the studios was already scheduled, but how odd that the new studios unveiled the "hyped graphics, lights and action and "visual pop ups" over content. If you look at either MSNBC or CNBC it looks like the homepage of AOL when one logs on. Too much going on visually and nothing for the mind. Notice how on CNBC's the stock ticker and NASDAQ/DJIN have become very, very tiny on the bottom of the screen. I think they are gearing for the "Crash" alerting us that "Market Reporting" will be changed to Business Fluff in the future. Just to cover their butts that they don't report anything truthful anymore about our gasping Economy.
I won't even comment on CNN which follows the MSNBC/CNBC race to see "who can look the most like Faux!"
I turned it off and won't be back. I'll be interested to see what their "New Looks" do to their ratings in about a month.

4. hmmmm.. I think it happened before that... |

seems to me that it really kicked in after LIHOP 911... but they've been leaning to the right for years. Just look at the withering coverage that the Clinton BJ scandal got. That aside, it was when the Monkey King said: "You're with us, or against us." Evidently, that was all they needed to become blind, reborn facists.

I try to shout daily at the ones who are asleep at the wheel, hoping that by yelling they'll wake up.

The Media has become the propaganda machine of the Neocons, heck it has gotten so bad that my public radio station insults the corporate media as a way to get listener donations.
