Censors set sights on 'world darling' Oprah
The crackdown on smut on America's airwaves has entered new and surprising territory after reports that less than open-minded federal regulators have turned their censorious attention to a thoroughly unexpected target - the perennially popular Oprah Winfrey Show.

On a rampage since Janet Jackson let a breast slip during the Super Bowl, the Federal Communications Commission has acknowledged it is looking into complaints that Winfrey may have crossed the decency line in at least one of her shows.

Winfrey has US radio shock jock Howard Stern, to blame. Stern has been under relentless Washington pressure to tone down his broadcasts and struck back by suggesting Winfrey was surely a worse offender.

'If they fine me, they gotta fine Oprah - the darling of the world'
The DJ directed listeners to his website for a transcript of a Oprah broadcast about teenage sex and included instructions how they could file a complaint with the FCC.

2. Something is definitely going on....
the right-wingers are definitely out to get the "lefties". They want
to paint us in an ugly image in order to reaffirm their "beliefs".
This is getting worrisome...

5. Oh please
Please, oh please, tell me this is true. Tell me that their(the rights) hatred of Oprah will be exposed. Lets seeeee. Judging from their lack of understanding the human brain, I say they will. Woo Hoo! Go after Oprah, Fox will pick it up followed by their examples of her "liberalness", oh....it's Christmas in April!

Yes.

2004 but I don't find it in the search. It was about how some European stations were going to cancel the 'Warmongering Oprah' show.

And for sure it was from

news24 or IOL or MG.

7. Hmmmm.....
"Sources at the FCC confirmed receiving about 700 complaints about Winfrey.... they are enough to prompt a formal investigation."

That's interesting -- think 700 of us could complain about O'Reilly? Everything that shitbag says is offensive to me.

8. Especially calling for a "Final Solution" in Iraq.
I find calling for genocide far more offensive than the word "fuck."
