Foreign currencies being diluted with over-printing to keep up with dollar fall?
This is really disturbing... I just read this on Kitco.com

"Most of the G-8 currencies are being diluted with over-printing in an effort to keep them aligned with the U.S. Dollar. America’s dollar is now so cheap this country is essentially for sale. Non-USA nations’ investors, overloaded with dollars are recycling them back into the states by buying companies, commercial facilities and certain shares to off-load decaying dollars. Those dollars are being replaced with real value in form of hard goods, beaten down real estate or, mining-material companies, shares and comparative assets. One USA positive is an increase in exports."

I'm no economist but I take this to read that the dollar would be doing even worse against other currencies like Euro and the canadian dollar, if it weren't being propped up artificially? Geesh.

1. Yep, but look at those low inflation numbers.
Kinda makes you think we're being lied to about inflation, don't it.

4. that's because
when Reagan got into office, he changed the formula for inflation and it no longer includes the price of food or oil.

i read recently that if they used the same formula that they used under Carter, we'd have double-digit inflation, right now.

Crazy, the one thing Carter is criticized for more than anything, is a joke.

7. Exactly right.
And Saint Ronnie didn't cut taxes either. He merely shifted the tax burden to the middle class from the rich. Social Security taxes were increased and then SS trust fund dollars were funneled into the general fund. Taxes were higher at the end of Saint Ronnie's reign than they were at the beginning.

10. Not only that..
.. but there are numerous other tricks played as well. Things that are going up in price get their weightings lowered, things that are falling in price get theirs raised.

The govermnent CPI number is totally useless.

2. I'm noticing here
that even little local companies are being bought up by foreigners.

6. Yesterday Bernanke signalled another Fed Rates cut. That will
push the dollar even lower. Years ago when Bernanke was still a professor he said he would throw dollars out of a helicopter to prevent recession (he became known as "Helicopter Ben"), and that in effect is just what he is doing. We may avoid recession but at the cost of higher and higher inflation. Food and fuel will cost more and incomes will not keep up.

9. "One USA positive is an increase in exports"...too bad
this follows a 30 year + crash in manufacturing here. You have to make things to sell things. Perhaps we can export used cars and old TV's.
