Geothermal System Construction At St. Francis University (PA)

Construction is under way at St. Francis University in Loretto, Pa., where the university's new DiSepio Institute for Rural Health and Wellness will have its heating and cooling needs met by a geothermal system.

The geothermal wells will save the center about 32% in energy costs, reports the Tribune-Democrat newspaper. St. Francis received $75,000 last November for the 44-well system as part of Pennsylvania Gov. Edward G. Rendell’s Energy Harvest grant program.
