Projected new Taipei-Shanghai air route causes carriers to drool

Air carriers are scrambling to secure a good position on the potentially lucrative Taipei-Shanghai flight route in preparation for the opening of indirect air links across the Taiwan Strait.

Despite the two sides of the Taiwan Strait remaining locked in a political impasse, Taiwan carriers have devised a number of new options to facilitate passenger flight services linking Taipei and Shanghai now that the Taiwan authorities have announced the opening of indirect cargo charter flights between Taipei and Shanghai.

China Airlines, Taiwan's largest carrier, will almost immediately start indirect Taipei-Shanghai flight services with stopovers in Okinawa.

The story is important NOT for airlines profits, its because it could solve one of the world's biggest REAL problems. Talking is the first step to making up. More people travelling back and forth. More separated families visiting and seeing each. More people getting to know each other and understanding each other. More business. More tourism. Amazing Shit-For-Brains* can't figure that out. It's what I would push for if I were Pres. Open all borders to Cuba. Open the borders between N. and S. Korea. I'm sure these Repukelican Bastards want the world and Americans living in fear.
