Edited on Tue Oct-14-03 07:10 AM by dArKeR
President Chen Shui-bian (陳水扁) is scheduled to deliver a keynote speech at the 37th International Carnahan Conference on Security and Technology (ICCST) slated to open at the Grand Hotel, Taipei, today, officials from National Central University, co-sponsor of the event, said yesterday.

President Chen will address the opening session of the three-day conference on Taiwan's strategic security position and its contribution to Asia-Pacific regional peace, the NCU authorities said.

More than 400 opinion leaders and specialists in security technology from 14 countries, including former U.S. Vice President Al Gore, will participate in the conference, which has "E-security" as the theme of discussions to manifest the significance and urgency of this issue within the "E-society."

Al Gore plans to give a speech at the conference about security technology, the event's organizers said yesterday.
