Qassam salvo hits western Negev
The residents of Sderot and Ashkelon woke up Wednesday to a continuing rocket barrage, as at least 30 Qassam rockets were fired from northern Gaza towards the two cities. Several people suffered from shock.

Wednesday's salvo followed the 41 rockets fired at the western Negev Tuesday. At least 12 Qassams were fired at Sderot, 11 more at Ashkelon and several at the Eshkol regional council, within an hour. Most of the rockets landed in open areas, but a loud explosion was heard coming form Ashkelon's industrial area and security forces were trying to locate its origin.

One of the rockets landed in Kibbutz Zikim, south of Ashkelon. There were no reports of injuries, but some of the kibbutz hothouses were damaged.

A worker at Ashkelon's southern industrial zone told Ynet, "We ran to the fortified rooms every few minutes, we heard the explosions around us, and it was terrifying. Now it has quieted down, but it's still very tense."

1. Notice the lack of outrage?
Let the rockets fall! The world is silent to Israel's security, because those rockets are just a mere "bother", a nuisance, nothing to be upset about. Those Israelis just need to toughen up a little bit more, because rockets raining on their houses and schools is really nothing at all, and they should just ignore them.

2. It's the same amount of reaction
as that received by the post Ecuadoran kibbutz volunteer killed by Palestinian sniper.

Ho hum, just a little sniper fire. No need to get excited. Israel is over-reacting as usual. Move along now, nothing to see.

:sarcasm: (in case it wasn't completely clear).

4. The same way that people claim that the occupation
has radicalized the average Palestinian, I think it is fair to say that the constant (thousands and thousands in the past 18 months) of rockets falling on Israel is radicalizing (or turning them more right wing) the formerly even lefty Israeli population.

Just read the talkbacks on Ynet or Haaretz or even the beloved anti-Israel BBC.

5. IAF kills five in Gaza as rockets pelt south Israel
An Israel Air Force strike killed two Palestinians in the central Gaza Strip on Wednesday evening, as militants in Gaza launched more than 40 Qassam rockets at the western Negev.

The strike came shortly after Defense Minister Ehud Barak vowed that Israel would step up its military offensive on Gaza in response to the barrage of Qassam rockets on southern Israel.

Hamas said the IAF missile strike Wednesday evening destroyed a car, killing its two occupants and wounding at least three others. The Israel Defense Forces confirmed the strike and said the vehicle targeted was carrying a load of weapons.

Earlier Wednesday afternoon, three Palestinian civilians were killed in an IAF strike that targeted a militant's car east of Gaza City. The fatalities included a teenager, his father and his uncle.

6. Perhaps the IDF should do nothing
and just let 40 or more rockets a day rain down on Israel.

No sane country in the world would put up with what Israel has without retaliation.

8. At least 10 hurt in Qassam barrage on Israel
At least 10 people were hurt yesterday when Palestinian militants launched a barrage of Qassam rockets and mortar shells at Israel in a day of fierce fighting in Gaza.

The father of a 5-year-old girl hurt after a Qassam hit their neighbor's Sderot home yesterday vowed his family will not return to the city that has been repeatedly hit by rockets and mortar shells.

The girl, Lior Ben-Shimol, was at her neighbor's house playing with their children when the attack occurred. Her father and younger brother were in their adjacent home. "Suddenly my wife called me, telling me there was a Color Red alert and that she does not know where to take cover," the girl's father, Yaron Ben-Shimol said, referring to the siren informing residents of an incoming rocket attack. "A second later I heard an explosion and saw a Qassam had hit the neighbor's house."

'I saw my daughter drenched in blood'
