'Rachel Corrie' boarded, no one hurt.
Edited on Fri Jun-04-10 11:29 PM by Fozzledick
At about 5:50 am on Saturday, the first reports came in over Twitter that the 'Rachel Corrie' had been boarded close to Gaza. Earlier the activists reported that their radar had been jammed, however their Twitter accounts continued to operate.

The activists reported that three boats were following them for about twenty minutes and then that they had been boarded.

The passengers are said to be under arrest.

On the downside, no executions carried out at close range = no medals handed out to this raiding crew.

10. Nope, I say give Hamas Nukes like Israel has, and then we will see who the bullie is in the
Middle East. Once Israel gets the message that they can't throw their weight around just because they are the only country in the ME with NUKES, then things will change for the betterment.

14. That's not very bright.
Give religious extremists doomsday weapons.

So your hatred of Israel makes you wish death on the entire region?

12. Let the Gazan children starve to death, is the Zionist war cry!
What an abomination has Zionism turned out to be! From the simple and just belief that Jews needed a homeland of our own where we could live in peace and free of pogroms and persecution, modern Zionism has turned out into an abomination that runs counter to our ancient concepts of justice and righteousness. From being a light for all nations, as hoped for in the Torah, Israel has become an embarrassment and a lawless state.

Actually it's the cry of Hamas, they're the ones who kicked this off.

As usual, your hatred of Israel has left you blind.

18. Doubtful.
If so, you be condemning both sides.

But your refusal to admit to the Palestinian violence and responsibility in the conflict shows your true feelings.

....cannot be considered credible regarding anything Jewish.

That's hatred.

5. Activists deny Israel navy boarded Gaza bound aid ship 'Rachel Corrie'
Conflicting reports emerged early on Saturday morning over whether Israel had intercepted a Gaza-bound aid ship, which by the early hours was just a few dozen miles from the blockaded Gaza strip.

The Cyprus-based Free Gaza group used micro-blogging website Twitter to announce that troops from three three Israeli naval boats, which had been tailing the ship, had boarded peacefully at 5:50 A.M. Israel time, with no struggle or injuries.

The Reuters news agency also reported that the ship had been seized - but later said that activists on board had denied having any direct contact with the Israeli navy, claiming at around at 6:30 A.M that they were still being shadowed.

An Israeli military spokeswoman said she had no information. Israel had said it would not let the ship through.

7. I want to see a NATO country stand up to Israel and seriously tell them that this isn't alright.
The US is supposedly a member of NATO, but you certainly wouldn't prove that by their actions in the past week.

16. The earlier report of a boarding was off.
Something is going on now. From the Free Gaza twitter feed, 10 minutes ago:

Freegazaorg

Al Jazeera reports that the Navy is insisting they go to Ashdod. Passengers say 'no'. Navy says they will drag boat to Ashdod. Not possible

They actually managed to enforce the Gaza Diet without murdering anyone... They're probably demanding that Nobel Peace Prizes be awarded...

Edit: fixed really stupid typo...
