Israelis Keep the Trigger Tight
From: http://ipsnews.net/news.asp?idnews=51936

RAMALLAH, Jun 24, 2010 (IPS) - "Where is my daddy? Why is he not coming home? I want my daddy," sobs seven- year-old Yasmin, her big blue eyes filling with tears. She wakes up crying every night.

"My life only began when I met him. I will never meet such a wonderful man again," Yasmin's mother Moira Julani tells IPS.

While it is just another statistic for the Israelis, another Palestinian family has been torn apart. U.S. citizens, 17-year-old Hannah, 15-year-old Mirage and seven-year-old Yasmin are now fatherless. Former Texan Moira, nee Reynolds, who left the U.S. 17 years ago to start a new life with her husband in Jerusalem, has lost her soul mate.

Two weeks ago 41-year-old Ziad Julani from East Jerusalem was shot a number of times at close range in the head and abdomen by Israeli special forces as he lay wounded on his stomach on the ground. An ambulance took the critically injured man to hospital but he died shortly afterwards.
,,,,
"We are asking for an independent investigation into my husband's killing. We don't want the Israeli security forces investigating themselves," says Julani.

Since the shooting of Ziad Israeli security officials have arrested witnesses who filmed the killing and confiscated their recording equipment. Street camera footage has been removed.

1. Do you suppose there are children crying in Uzbek? Kurdistan?
Indonesia? Sri Lanka? Burma? Kashmir? Tibet? Darfur? Rwanda? Thailand?

Ever once considered the source of such narrow particular interest in crying children? If I am being unfair, I would greatly appreciate links to your OPs of those other distraught youngsters.

2. Wow...only six minutes for your typical knee-jerk bullshit...
But I guess I can see your point. After all, they're only nigg...I mean Ay-rabs. Not like they're human or anything.

:puke:

Indeed. Psychopathic monsters commit similar acts across this sad planet. Don't omit the US.
None of them excuse or justify another, even if your 'others like those I admire equally do the same and put forward as morally equivalent' argument made any sense.

4. The U.S. isn't subsudizing the armies that cause the grief in those places
And also, this is the I/P Forum...not the "Everyplace in the world sucks" forum, so the very way DU has designed this guarantees you wouldn't see reference to the suffering in other places here.

If you'd like to call for getting rid of the I/P thread and allowing issues from that area to be discussed as freely as they are when they happen everyplace else, I'd support you.

But that's not your concern. You, as always, just want to silence ANY debate about what happens to Palestinians.

5. No you are not being unfair...
You are simply behaving in the only expected way a person who views the importance of human life based on their ethnic background are. Fish swim. Frogs hop. Bees gather pollen. Haters hate against the people whom they hate.

7. Thanks for the dumbass keejerk bigoted reflex. Read it for content and what is the
it discloses about the reality on the ground, and comprehend what that implies for the future if this same path is followed in the future. Try. Maybe you can if you try and try and try again.

8. Oops --
I see I used the wrong word. Hence, I'm a "dumbass kneejerk bigot." After all, in your posted article, the statement "While it is just another statistic for the Israelis" is a perfectly acceptable defamatory stereotyping of all "Israelis," and hence falls within the safe haven of "criticism of Israel."

But just for the heck of it, why don't we try an experiment. Make the story in your posted article about an Israeli killed by a suicide bomber. Then insert the statement "While it is just another statistic for the Palestinians . . . ." Now, why do I get the queasy feeling that would not be viewed as legitimate "criticism of Palestine."
