12. Partly that was to keep them warm, I think |
|
The dark haired one is so thin she must have been freezing (Alexandria is it?) Yeah, Kerry did look happy and stoked.
Meanwhile, back at the ranch, I am STILL soaked to the skin!
I'm just about to take a nice hot shower, get some dry clothes, and head over to campaign HQ.
That was a good rally. Glad to see how big it was from the other side. I was on the flip side, behind Kerry as he spoke.
It rained almost the whole time, but we kept ourselves warm by standing close together, chanting "One more day!" and "Kerry! Kerry! Kerry!"
One of the people standing next to me got to shake Kerry's hand and tell him they have two sons in Iraq and ask him to bring them back. He said he would. I turned around a few minutes later and she was crying, poor thing.
Jon Bon Jovi was good too. But all I wanted was to see the next president of the United States. I was within 5 feet of the man, and got to touch his hand, though not get a real handshake.
Quite a group of Dems showed up as well: Gwen Moore (You Go Gwen!), Mayor Barrett, Gov. Doyle, Sen. Kohl.
Kerry told us he wouldn't keep us long, as we must be cold, and he would cut his speech short. We all went "Awwwww!" We'd stayed out there that long, we wanted the full treatment. We kept interrupting him with "One more day! One more day!"
It was a good day. But now I'm going to go get warm.
