25. I voted in Noe Valley |

Someone in line said he'd NEVER had to wait in line to vote there - it was at the garage of this apartment complex up on Diamond St. The wait was about 25 minutes, but the line was getting longer when I left.

14. Enron sealed Davis' fate in CA. |

We were never able to get out from under that debt. Annnuld is pretty popular here, but the ironic part is he ended up doing the EXACT same thing he criticized Davis for wanting to do to "save our economy" in CA (Massive Bond Issue). It was a horrible decision until he got into office.

Pacific Palisades - CA poll workers tell me that people were lined up around the corner at opening time - first time in memory of the poll worker. We're beginning to resemble a democracy again.

8. Here in San Francisco long long lines |
|
I was across the street from a polling place doing Kerry/Edwards visibility starting at six am and the line was already long and got longer for the two hours I was there. I've never seen lines like this here, even in 92.

10. West Los Angeles/Santa Monica area.... |
|
...crowded, but no waiting. However, I did wait until right after 9:00 AM to vote so that I would not take time from people who were on their way to work. Heavy p;ro-Kerry area here.....and I wanted those votes and the pro Stem Cell measure votes to have plenty of time to cast their ballots ahead of me since I am retired and can go any time during the day.

Line was backed up out the door with about a 30 minute wait. Everyone was saying they'd never seen this before. Lot's of excitment, mostly Dems. Saw one repug: loafers with no socks :puke: This is a wealthy, liberal community! Lot's of Kerry signs and bumper sticks. GO KERRY!!!

12. 70 minute wait in San Diego... |
|
Plus where I live they had 2 different polling places in the same building (entrances on opposite sides) and the other line was even longer than mine.
People are motivated thats for sure. Plus when I left the lines were just as long as when I first got in line. In 2000 it only took about 20 minutes to vote.

Huge turnout at 7 am (and the polling place was pretty much for my apartment complex only.)
something like 45-50 minutes wait for me, I think, and it was only getting longer.

Excellent turnout, some good lines -- went to polls about 9:15 a.m., so I missed the vote-before-work surge. Lots of seniors voting when I was there, so the lines were moving slowly. (No offense to seniors meant by that observation.) Counted 5 cars parked in front of polling place that had Kerry stickers, not including mine!
Volunteers said they were expecting another spike in activity at noon, as people come out of their offices and vote at lunch.
Busiest election I've ever seen around here, that's for sure.
On edit: Awesome weather here today -- a desert-like feel to the air, temp. in the high 70s. :)

First time I've ever had to wait. Took about a half hour when in past elections it took about 10 minutes. Anyone who is even slightly familiar with Venice can figure out who got the most votes!

Riverside, Ca (Murrieta, Ca), just north of San Diego County.
For the first time.
Got to say. The pollworkers were very professional.
People were very quiet. Quietly going in there, and doing their business.

where I'm usually the first one to vote in my precinct, I had to wait in line. And I was the oldest looking person there, too! (I'm only 38.) VERY ENCOURAGING!
Edited for spelling. Too excited today.

24. West L.A. here. Lines started forming at 7:15 am. AMAZING. |
|
I posted this elsewhere so forgive the repetition, but I live directly across the street from our neighborhood polling place. It's just really amazing. Lines down the driveway. Hard to find parking - AND, it's TRASH DAY! Maybe figuratively as well as literally - as in (hopefully) taking the TRASH out of the White House! But there's been brisk business over there all day. There's a bit of a let-up at the moment, but it was REALLY busy earlier. I've lived here, off and on, for about 40 years. I've never seen it this busy over there.
