Can Someone PLEASE, PLEASE Explain The Florida Situation To Me? |
|
As I understand it, Bush has won Florida with 300,000 votes or so, correct?
But there are 1.6 million absentee votes that have not been counted. Is that correct?
And now the Republicans are trying to get the absentee votes THROWN OUT UNCOUNTED?????
Is this true? Why would the Kerry team allow this? How can they be sure that those votes wouldn't favor Kerry?

1. Just because the stupid media declare Florida for Bush... |
|
does not mean that the Sec. of State has certified the election, which he can't UNTIL the absentee ballots are counted.
Calling Florida was stupid. It ain't over, not in Ohio nor in Florida.

3. Of course Kerry wouldn't allow it. Don't be silly. |

Dems told people to vote absentee in Florida to avoid their votes being voided.
I still have not heard anything definitive about whether absentee ballots have been counted or not. NBC said something around 5 or 6 p.m. about how none of the absentee ballots had been counted yet, because they had to be certified--to make sure that people didn't vote both by absentee AND with a regular ballot.
I also haven't heard anything about provisional ballots, which might be key in Florida as well.

10. I want them to contest Texas and New Mexico votes, as well..... |
|
I've heard too many reports about the touch-screen machines posting a vote for bush, when a CLEAR vote for Kerry was cast. I suspect some of the US House and Senate races might have been compromised, as well.
I say, take the fight to bush's back door, and expose the fraud in that state for everyone to see, as well.

I have heard nothing about trying to get the absentees thrown out. Yet, I thought the number was closer to around 300,000 ballots. They may be including the overseas in the larger number but they are armed forces voters who vote for repukes (I know, don't ask me why). It's not going to happen for Kerry in FL. Sorry. Keep your fingers crossed for the Senate and Castor she's losing but by about 75000 with some strong Democratic areas left to report (as well as the absentees). :(

6. Florida absentee votes are from military--they love the Chimp. |

Absentee votes break in favor of Republicans almost always.
Florida is history. Too many neanderthals.

11. Disagree with Your Simplification. |

Democrats have made a HUGE effort to get voters to vote early in Florida. Some people voted electronically. Others asked for absentee ballots.
Remember those 55,000 THOUSAND absentee ballots that were requested in Democratic counties that NEVER ARRIVED?

That said that the Republicans were going to court to dismiss the need to count the absentee ballots. I can't verify it.

8. Another Question: What About Provisional Ballots In Florida? |
|
If there are 175,000 to 250,000 provisional ballots in Ohio, just how many provisional ballots do you think there are in Florida?
Shouldn't those be counted as well?
