Witch Hunt at the CIA
"The White House has ordered the new CIA director, Porter Goss, to purge the agency of officers believed to have been disloyal to President George W. Bush or of leaking damaging information to the media about the conduct of the Iraq war and the hunt for Osama bin Laden, according to knowledgeable sources."

My take: The focus is on loyalty not effectiveness. The new agency motto will be "Yes, Boss!" The intelligence briefing process will be reversed: The White House will brief the CIA on the conclusions for which it wants the agency to find or manufacture evidence.

6. It's mind boggling
I keep thinking, "Travelgate, anyone?" A freaking independent prosecutor investigated that for seven or eight years at taxpayers' expense on the bogus claim that Hillary lied about her influence on those firings--something that, if true, wouldn't even have been illegal!

We've gone beyond insanity. If a Democrat was doing the things Bushco is doing, there would be burning effigies all over the Mall and the Republicans would be rushing the White House with pitchforks. They would have hauled Clinton out in handcuffs for something like this.

:grr:

11. I can still think of Walter humming Mozart and laugh!
Or Glenda (now a member of parliament, did you know?) calling him an "old goat."

A re-make would be great! I would love the opportunity to watch the CIA demolish Cheney's vacation home in WY (down the street from my folks - literally.)

:)

15. You're right. That's a toughie. The only person I'm
coming up with that might pull it off is Jack Nicholson, but he's not really "right." It was the quintessential Matthau role.

It would be such a great film to revive - perhaps some re-mastering?

Jack Lemmon woulda been great.

5. what a goddam disgrace
I wonder what poppy bush would say about this, having been a former head of the CIA and all. The CIA still hasnt gotten its act together since 9/11 and bush is only making it worse.

7. I thought I noticed a decided change in poppy's demeanor on election
night. When I saw them all together he and Bar were sitting ramrod straight on the couch. They looked different than in 2000. I don't know what to make of that information. Hunter Thompson described him
in 2000 as having the look of a coyote with a live sheep in his mouth. I did not have the same feeling this year.

8. Good timing, while bin Laden is threatening to hit again. Feel safer?

Time for the CIA to push back hard. Or are they just going to sit by while the Pissy Little Emperor cements his hold? They should take him DOWN.
