How about Feingold/Edwards for 08? |
|
Either way, Feingold/Edwards or Edwards/Feingold.

3. Feingold yes, Edwards no. |
|
What has Edwards done? He's had one undistinguished term in the Senate. I think we can find a better running mate for Russ than that. Somebody with national defense credentials would be good.

4. I think Edwards can fill the gaps with |
|
his intelligence. He can learn between now and then. Plus, I think he embodies the Democratic philosophy as does Feingold. Both would be strong on people's rights.

6. Yeah, but you want diversity on a ticket |
|
Wes Clark would make a fine running mate for Feingold. Call me superstitious, but I don't see much point in running last year's losers in the next election. They had a golden opportunity and failed to capitalize.

9. I agree - Feingold/Clark would be a nice ticket. |
|
I agree, I wouldn't mind seeing Feingold/Clark - but I don't think we should run Edwards again. Don't get me wrong, I liked him as a candidate, but I think he is still a little green when it comes to politics. Hey, let him run in the primaries and we'll see who has the best message. The more, the merrier.
I thought Edwards wouldn't run again because of his wife's situation? I don't think that limited foreign policy should be a deterrent though, let's not forget - George Bush had zero foreign policy experience when he was (s)elected (unless you count flying a flight simulator down in Texas before going AWOL).

10. I like Edwards/Feingold |
|
Edwards has only said that he will wait until his wife is better before deciding whether or not to run. It isn't that he has already announced that he won't run.

No Edwards. We need some fresh blood. Maybe a red state Governor or Wes Clark. No more 2 senator tickets. I think all that Washington turns some people off.

8. Agreed a Feingold/Clark ticket could be good. |
|
It would be better if Clark won Governor of Arkansas in 06 though. =)

7. Whatever. Just so long as goddamned Hillary |
|
stays as far away from this theater as possible. Clark/Edwards, Kerry/Edwards, Edwards/Warner, Kerry/Feingold . . . any one of those.
SO sick of this "Hillary '08: Just ACCEPT It, You Stupid Bluetards" bullshit. These people must not WANT to win.

but has a losing VP candidate ever been chosen again for the same slot? FDR was a losing VP candidate but the next time he ran was for President

I just know that I had to hold my nose to vote for a ticket with Edwards on it last time, and I'm not sure I could do it again. I just never "got" what it was that he added to the ticket.

14. I'm afraid that Feingold's religion will hurt him |
|
Especially if he's at the top of the ticket. There are millions of people in this country -- especially in the Christianity-drenched south -- who just won't vote for a Jew under any circumstances. They may tell pollsters that they will, but when they get in the voting booth it's another story.

15. I am s-o-o-o-o-o tired of talk about possible 2008 nominees . . . |
|
if the voting system isn't fixed, we could run Jesus Christ in 2008 and we'll still lose . . . right now all this discussion is just a waste of time, energy, and bandwidth . . .

16. Thank you...I'm glad someone said it |

So much can change in the next four years that its unfathonable to discuss possible '08 tickets when we don't know the circumstances which we will be facing.
Focus on 2006, BBV, and preventing privatization of social security.
