thanks for posting that. We need him to come to Louisiana. July 9th for the Grassroots Progressive Workshop (DFA) in New Orleans would be ideal!

Thanks for the link. The Mississippi Chair was absolutely right about how the Republicans would attack FDR if he were resurrected. Dean was great in those sound bites.
In regards to the Democratic Party in the South, Howard Dean is exactly the right way to go. To use a football analogy for a second here, it's not as if the Democrats had a fairly good Southern team that was coming up just slightly short in all the showdown Elections. When that is the case sometimes a team owner will pull off a trade for a seasoned sure thing veteran to solidify the team and put it over the top. Often that is done by sacrificing some young prospects who could be future stars for the team. But the current Democratic Party is not competitive in the South, certainly not the deep south like Mississippi.
No, the Democratic Party needs a major rebuilding effort in the South. It needs new energetic local activists to rebuild it from the bottom up, not tried and true cogs in a loosing wheel. Like the local Chair said, Dean represents the unapologetic fighting spirit of the Democratic Party. That is what the Party needs to breath new life into it's ranks down there.
