Are Bush and the Repubs succeeding in dividing the Democrats? |
|
With their votes on bankruptcy and future votes on SS? Maybe that is not their intent but that does seem to be the result? Any thoughts?

1. Dems are united on SS and Bankruptcy cannot divide us. |

What is dividing us are people like AL FROM who are picking up the Right Wings talking points about moving away from people like Michael Moore and Move On.
The DLC needs to be killed off before they succeed in getting the left wing of the democratic party to break off and form a third party.

2. The Dems in Congress have, with only a few exceptions, proven to be.. |
|
...totally spineless, afraid of being labeled, meek to the point of making mice look bold, and quick to capitulate for fear of not being in Congress any more. That makes me sick...putting your own personal Congressional career above what you know in your heart to be the best interest of your constituency, and your Country.

We do it to ourselves, once we realize that we are in control of our own destiny we will start having more success

Until such time as they grow a spine and start to stand up for the people that put them there in the first place, it matters not one whit what * and the rethuglicans do....
I would rather have a much smaller but vocal 100% true-blue Democratic representation in Congress than the current crop of boot-licking, rubber-stamping * enablers that are currently there....
If the Democrats vote with the republicans anyway what's the point in supporting them with our money and our time?
This is not a case of cutting off our nose to spite our face, but rather a simple statement of fact, there is NO difference between a republican and a Democrat that votes republican.
None.
They need to be held accountable for their actions and removed. The ONLY reason the republicans have consolidated their positions of power (other than that whole rigged election thingy..well, that and the compliant and subserviant media) is because they vote in lock-step with one another and do not tolerate dissention on important issues.
Unless and until the Democrats finally wrap their heads around that little nugget they are destined to be ineffective and scatterbrained.
It's time to take a page from the rethuglican's play book and get in the game. If we don't, there won't be much of this country left to be bitter about....

5. No. They may try - but it is up to us to not fight with each other and |
|
understand what Democrats have always known: you don't get every single thing you want in a democracy - but you get much of what you need.
If we can remember that and try and learn from different sides .. then Democrats will do fine.

7. Absolutely. It has been a key republican strategy for years and has been |
|
very successful. I see no reason to think that it will not continue to be a successful strategy.
