I called Maine's two Senators |
|
Regarding the ANWR drilling.
I reached Susan Collins' office (NOT a toll free number) and was told "Senator Collins' office; please hold". That didn't make me happy. I hung up and called Snowe's office (an 800 number.) The staffer who answered couldn't have been more pleasant. He said he didn't know how the Senator was going to vote today but in the past she's always supported a ban on drilling there. I expressed my concerns and urged her to continue to fight the drilling.
I called Susie's office back and reached a life person without having to hold. The staffer was not as pleasant as Snowe's was but she, too, said the Senator had not supported drilling there and most of the calls they're getting want her to continue that thinking.
Here's hoping our Maine ladies vote the right way this time!

call about the change in the filibuster rules too? This is something that could change the judicial landscape for decades! http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x1663753
