CNN poll about War
Edited on Sat Mar-19-05 08:12 PM by hiley
Look at this fucked up question on CNN
http://edition.cnn.com/2005/WORLD/europe/03/19/europe.iraq.protests.ap/
QUICKVOTE
Two years on, is it time to end protests against the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq?
Yes
No

from my blog below:
Anti-War Protests Marks Anniversary Of Iraq Invasion
While the world marks the anniversary of the Illegal Invasion of Iraq our Media only wants to speak
of Terri Schavio showing a tiny hint of the millions who are trying to put an end to the Bush Regime
Reign of Terror !

http://rantsbyhiley.blogspot.com/

Yes 42% No 58% worded really strange don't you think ?

1. I'm not surprised, but I am outraged...
Edited on Sat Mar-19-05 07:45 PM by TwoSparkles
I've been in bed most of the day, with the flu, so I've been watching CNN and other MS news.

Hardly a mention of any protests.

The only thing I've seen was CNN saying that 45,000 demonstrators showed up in Great Britain.

They showed 4 seconds of footage from the protest, then the commentator said, "And now, a very different perspective on the war from a doctor who found hope in Iraq."

Then, CNN launched into a 15-minute story on a psychologist in Iraq who helped soldiers with trauma, shock and PTSD. She discussed the bravery of our soldiers and the sacrifices they made. This feel-good stuff was presented as the opposite viewpoint of the protesters--as if the protesters don't honor the soldiers or believe they are brave.

The piece also showed many positive aspects of the war, as told in the psychologists' own words. She talked about beautiful sunsets, fresh fruit during meals and the gorgeous surroundings in Iraq.

I didn't know war could be so picturesque, beautiful and scenic. Thank God for CNN. /sarcasm off

There was sooooooo much more activism, intelligence and compassion back then. We really felt we made a difference. Now, everyone is drinking the kool-aid and we can only hope some of them are going to choke on it.

We are heading down unchartered waters now, and the steam ship is WAAAAAY off course!!

I will PROTEST this stuff til they come take me away. And then, I'll scream to the top of my lungs at all this IN-JUST-ICE!!!!

I'm sure MSM has something to do with the media, but I've just been calling them Media whores or mentioning them by name.

Oh BTW, (I know that one) and WTF, right now a SPECIAL meeting in the House regarding Schiavo!!! I life in Florida and this has been such a big thing. Yeah, keep big brother out of our lives!!

Yes
No
This is absolutely the most twisted question CNN has ever asked. Why does it not say are you for the damn war or not. Keep writing them worded tricky and help the US government fight more needless wars, why don't you ?
We want the NEWS not commentary, not Terri Schiavo, Michael Jackson all of the news and real investigation. Stop feeding us mind numbing bait and switch. We don't need our News Services to do State Propaganda for the Bush Administration. I have been asking CNN for a very long time now why do you want to be FOX jr. ? I never get a response, from anyone with CNN and you would think that occasionally there would be an actual answer sometime sooner or later.

88% said No to the question. Only 12% agreed that it was a good idea??

Why so many MIXED messages???? Earlier, ALL the news reporting was how beautifully this thing was going.

We HAVE to tap into these voters, maybe despite all the "pumping up" by the RW, there really is a larger under-current of despair and people wanting to tell the TRUTH. Let's keep hitting HARD!!!!

I'm wearing a "small" smile right now.
