How to escape the draft
I am not going to tell you how, i need to know how. I know that you can't go to Canada anymore, so where do you go, when do you go, how much warning do you have, so on and so forth. This could be valuable info, at least to me because i ain't killin' nobody.

1. This flash-game will illustrate your options on how to avoid the draft.
Very educational flash-game for people planning to resist the draft.

5. My ONE complaint about that sight
Is the thing about going to Canada when they say "how's your French". That's kind of a stereotype and an incorrect one at that considering that they speak English in most provinces of Canada.

3. I think I'd rather go to prison and become a rallying cry

than fight Mr. Bush's War.

Honestly, I'd probably just pack up some belongings, whatever cash I got, and just wander the countryside and avoid authorities. I'll wander from city to city not staying in any spot too long. Who knows? It might be fun seeing the country. Maybe I'll pull a Hunter S. Thompson and grab a friend for an acid-laced trip to Las Vegas and other cities and write a book about my adventures.

6. Won't be hard for me...
I'm more than 100 pounds overweight due to health issues, and I had a quadruple bypass in 2003. There's no way they would find me fit to serve.

7. Take photos of your self at a Peace Rally and mail
Mail photos of yourself at many Peace Rallys. The envelopeS) must be sealed and post marked. Put the unopened envelope(s) must be put in your new file entitled: My Documents on Conscientious Objector Status. If you have not registered with Selective Service yet, when you do - write anywhere or everywhere: "I am a conscientios objector. I oppose war of anykind." Then, write your beliefs about war, peace, etc. and place that in your file. Ask teachers, neighbors, relatives, clergy, doctors, etc to write something that they know about you as one opposed to war.

Mostly, check out the Central Committee for Conscientious Objectors. They have a small - but loaded - book entitled, "Choosing Peace: A Handbook on War, peace, and Your conscience," by Robert A. Seeley.

The CCCO is at 1515 Cherry Street; Philadelphia, PA 19102
Website: http://www.objector.org/

Know the facts. Know your rights. Be thorough. This will apply to boys and girls, men and women. Age: 18-34. No kidding.

8. If you're a college student, apply for a work permit for UK, Aus. NZ etc.
and go work there...

Britain, New Zealand, Australia, Ireland, and Canada offer working holiday Visas to American college students. You probably won't get anything more than a low-level service job, but you'll be safe from the draft, be earning money while living abroad, get to travel, and have a fun experience. Definitely is a win-win situation in my book.

12. pretend to be gay
I'd pretend to be gay. They'd kick you out pretty dang fast! If you actually got sent to boot camp you could pretend like you thought heavy artillery were common house hold items such as a broom, cleaning solution, etc.Walking around mumbling bizarre phrases like "beam me up Scottie" might get you sent home too. I'm a girl so I won't get drafted, but I'm worried about my male cousins.

11. Why not Canada?
Edited on Sun Mar-20-05 08:52 AM by HypnoToad
I've been missing out on the news...

Update: Oh. * teamed up with Canada. Nice. Since NAFTA, I'm amazed Canada still likes us; what with NAFAT allowing us to freely take their oil as a condition for all that free trade (which seems to exclude Canadian drugs, amongst other things, coming into the US.)
