GOP Hypocrisy Is Just Freaking UNREAL!!
Did you hear the one about the Limbaugh caller who calls Michael Schiavo on "adultery" and then says "what part of 'til death do us part' does he not understand?"

Hasn't Rushbo said "til death do us part" three times? Going on four? What part did HE not understand?

It is amazing to me how these people can be so judgmental and black and white about everything (apart from their own lives, of course!)

4. smoke and mirrors..... look at the * polls directly after the election,

(posted directly after the elections (about a month or so)

and even now...

THE POLITICAL IMPACT OF THE SCHIAVO CASE
As mentioned earlier, Congressional approval ratings have fallen since last month and are at their lowest point since 1997, and President Bush’s job approval ratings have also declined. 43 percent now approve of President Bush’s handling of his job as President; 48 percent disapprove.

36 percent approve of President Bush’s handling of the economy, and 53 percent disapprove. Bush’s approval rating on Iraq has also dropped; 39 percent approve, down from 45 percent in late February; 53 percent now disapprove.

BUSH JOB APPROVALS

Overall
Now 43%
2/2005 49%

Economy
Now 36%
2/2005 38%

Iraq
Now 39%
2/2005 45%

There is a strong partisan element to these views; the President’s approval rating is especially low among Democrats (11 percent approve), while 85 percent of Republicans approve.

As a matter of national priority, the public continues to say the war in Iraq (26 percent) and the economy and jobs (15 percent) are the most important problems facing the U.S. today. Only 6 percent mention Social Security, about the same as last month.

7. well, at least that there is something strange going on. After all,
things went smoothly in Ohio... at least according to the news reports this week. (/sarcasm)

The actual meeting was a bit more cantankerous.. Listen to the audio provided on this webpage... Tubbs-Jones gets into it with Blackwell.

Ohio Official Says Election Went Smoothly
By JOHN McCARTHY
The Associated Press

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The state's election chief told lawmakers at a sometimes-testy congressional hearing Monday that Ohio's presidential election went as smoothly as possible, given the resources available and some last-minute interpretations by state and federal courts.

Secretary of State Kenneth Blackwell testified before members of the U.S. House Administration Committee during a special hearing at the Ohio Statehouse. Members of the committee peppered Blackwell with questions about provisional ballots, long voting lines and other issues in the election that gave President Bush the 20 electoral votes he needed to capture re-election.

His appearance came more than a month after he failed to appear before the committee at a hearing in Washington.

U.S. Rep. Bob Ney, an Ohio Republican and the committee's chairman, took Blackwell's absence as a snub, especially since Blackwell was in Washington the same day to lead a meeting of the nonpartisan Campaign Finance Institute.
