Poll question: Dennis Kucinich v. Jerry Springer |
|
Who has a better chance at getting elected statewide in Ohio? Elections are coming up for Governor and US Senate. Who would you rather see in one of the positions?

1. IF I lived in Ohio, I'd urge Dennis Kucinich to run for governor..... |
|
His progressive ideas would be a breath of fresh air after decades of Republican stagnation. I'd urge Jerry Springer to keep his day job. I understand he holds progressive views, but he has stigmatized himself with the general electorate forever by the trashy, moronic show he runs.
Ever notice on his episodes from a couple of years ago, towards the end, some audience member would stand us and tell how he/she got a job/loan/promotion because of PRESIDENT GEORGE W BUSH!!! Then the crowd would break out with USA! USA! USA! with a smiling Bush superimposed. Made my stomach churn.
If Ohioan can't do better than Springer, they might as well sit the race out.

2. I think Kucinich would be better in the Senate. |
|
He's great at raising important issues that others won't discuss, voting the right way, and inspiring people with his speeches.
I'm not sure he's so great as an administrator. His term as Mayor of Cleveland is ancient history, but he didn't do a much better job of managing his Presidential campaign either. His skills seem to be more suited to a legislative body.

a great senator, in the mold of Birch Bayh and Harold Hughes, but in the day when there were serious, rpincipled, consistent liberals in the senate.
The senate has degenerated sadly over the years. Voters have not been kind to liberals.

A few years ago I heard a piece on the radio about Jerry Springer just after he decided not to run for--I forget, was it governor? Anyway, it was an excellent piece, and Springer seemed like a true progressive. I was floored because I knew nothing about this guy...other than he and I share the same alma mater: Tulane University. :)
But from what I heard of Jerry Springer I would vote for him for anything he ran for.

I think that Springer has too many skeletons in his closet.

7. Springer's skeletons aren't in the closet anymore. |
|
They're all out in the open! :) I see your point though.
