Have We Finally Learned We Don't Have to Be Scared Turds Anymore? |
|
Two cases - have our Dem politicians gleaned the lessons from them and, thereby, learned they don't have to keep hiding in the shadows like scared little turds??
Shiavo case - With 70-75% disapproving it shows that a large chunk of the very, very large Christian community in this country wants permission to divorce themselves from the "freaks" of the religion. The Repubs have pounded it into the head of mainstream Christians that they have to hold the beliefs of the 'freaks' or they are not good Christians. Our mission - to point out the difference to the public between worshiping one's God and people who have a subversive, traitorous agenda aimed at destroying our Constitution (people don't like that--they really don't).
Social Security - With about the same percentage of opposition it shows that for all the goddamn yelping of Republican voters about the stinking government and taxes, etc., they still want the government to wrap it's arms around them and help/protect them. Our mission is to harp all through the midterms saying: "Remember - they went after your SS to destroy it after denying they would in their campaigns; if you don't throw the Repub majority out of Congress they ARE going to gut your Medicare and this time they won't have a "no touch" people above age 55 provision"!! That will scare a lot of red state residents shitless (and they should be).

especially in the red states. In AR, not many have health insurance and most rely on SS for their sole retirement income. And many folks here have loved ones in the military, and know first hand what is really going on, and they are upset. A strong Democratic leader can take hold of this unease and create a real groundswell of opposition to Bushco.
