I remember this well. The editorial cartoonists had a field day.

5. but it's not nearly as weird as smacking your face against the table ...
... as you're passing out after choking on a pretzel. Or falling off a scooter -- both of which Bush did.

People HAVE been attacked by animals which were diseased, or just plain aggressive -- my former roommate had stopped her bicycle on a path to let a woodchuck cross, when the creature charged at her and sank its teeth into the bike tire!

But not many folks can immobilize themselves while eating snack food.

8. It's all a matter of "media spin"
Attacked by a "killer bunny" or a "Segway Scooter".

Take your pick

7. Ah the good old days.
I do remember it. That was shortly before Reagan made a staunch liberal out of me.

9. I remember it and thought it amusing
and it was in a more serene time. Someone did a wonderful Walt Kelly-style swamp rabbit going after the Carter boat. Does anyone have this?

10. It was an early example of the SCLM going after a Democrat
You wouldn't believe the trashing Carter and his entire staff got from the press. They were outsiders and everyone let them know it.

I remember there was a funny cartoon using Bugs Bunny as the rabbit and he was saying how he was minding his own business out swimming and then President Carter 'commenced' to go after him with a paddle. It was a cute cartoon, I cut it out of the paper and had it on my bulletin board for years.:-)

On edit: It's a shame that this was used against Carter, that makes me so .

I named a rabbit I got for Easter one year, "Killer" because of those crazy Pythons!

13. And?
Carter happens to be my favorite President. He was both sensible and soft spoken. I truly miss that.

Nothing he did was as embarassing as any other Presidents action since then.

That was some funny shit. Didn't the rabbit chase him in a boat? I don't care about the politics involved in this one, a rabid bunny chasing the POTUS in a fishing boat is WEIRD.
