After trying and failing to topple Bush (the dry tippler, whatever that is), Cheney (Halliburton Halliburton Halliburton) and Rumsfeld (top of the dim head explodes just thinking about him), the dims are now trying to shake down DeLay. It's an honor for him to join such company.

The lunatic left will find out that this Texan aint from Georgia. We have a whole different style when attacked.

And the lunatic left will see what their whining has wrought during the 2006 elections. {Free clue: see "elections of 1994, 2000, 2002, 20004"}

Reply 5 - Posted by: 4Frank Merenda, 4/11/2005 7:07:47 AM

Everyone saw Santorum & Bush push for Sen.A.Specter in the Pa. Senatorial election, that showed what our Grand Old Party stands for at times. These people are no different than those on the other side of the aisle.

Reply 6 - Posted by: northstar, 4/11/2005 7:20:56 AM

The point of this story is that while the press will watch a terrorist place a bomb that will kill people and not warn anyone in the name of not wanting to "influence the story" in this case they want to step in and create the toppling of a party leader just like they wanted to topple Bush, at what point should they be called to task?

Reply 7 - Posted by: Rat Patrol, 4/11/2005 7:25:51 AM

Tom DeLay is a good Man who is being lied about by the far left-wing water carrying liberal media, and the reason they are lying and distorting, is because he has beaton the Democratic Party`s fanny in the house of reps.
And he has a spine,a rare thing these days,a Republican with a spine....

Reply 8 - Posted by: ar15, 4/11/2005 7:36:58 AM

If Delay was a nice little sissy boy like Chrissy Shay the democrats would be praising his bipartisanship. But since he's doesn't back down when the NY Times shoves a poll in his face he's a bad guy, and has to go. If it gets to the point where my choice is limited to a Leftwinger or spineless RINO, I'll go fishing on election day.

Reply 9 - Posted by: Annie Colorado , 4/11/2005 8:02:21 AM

Any Republican who attacks DeLay will suffer great damage and I don't care if it is Shay or Santorum. The New York Slimes is on thin ice, their tactics are clearly dishonest and have gone way over the line. I hope the GOP will stand up and go after those scumbags at the Slimes, enough is enough.

Reply 10 - Posted by: saryden, 4/11/2005 8:20:32 AM

I'm with #1 and #9.
Republicans must support their members that come under attack. It means they are doing a good job when Dems single them out for maligning.
The Dem Socialists mean no good for America.

Reply 11 - Posted by: Halfgenius, 4/11/2005 8:21:13 AM

The only folks that can "get rid" of Tom Delay are the folks in Texas that vote for him. The rest of this brouhaha is meaningless mudslinging by the media. There is, from what I've gleaned, much support for Tom in the House. I'd also stick my neck out and say there is going to be hell-to-pay for those Rep's on the right side of the isle that join in on this media feeding frenzy of Tom DeLay...they have to remember just where some of those "campaign funds" come from, and whose voice is very loud when it comes to committee selections. Those are the cold hard facts of politics, like'em or not!

Reply 12 - Posted by: TheMotherCO, 4/11/2005 8:33:15 AM

Frankly, I don't have a problem with DeLay's hiring his family - who else could you trust? It is NOT against the law and I am sick and tired of hearing "the appearance of". How many times do the dims have to chase people out of office before the Pubbies get a clue. Livingston should have hung tough, admitted he erred and stayed put. Ditto Trent Lott, he did not say anything wrong and it was idiotic to replace him with that noxious frist, who is apparently of the same cloth as chrissy shays, santorum, collins, and the other rinos.

Reply 13 - Posted by: Rumblehog, 4/11/2005 8:33:28 AM

Just another case of the DemonRats' "Divide and Conquer" strategy. They got Packwood, Newt, and Lott. Don't let them do it again. In fact, turn the tables on them.
Congressional Republicans need to start pushing the Sandy 'Burgler' investigation HARD.

Reply 15 - Posted by: JER, 4/11/2005 8:45:41 AM

Proposed slogan: Throwing good people overboard - it's what we Republicans do best.

When will our representatives in DC get a clue about why we voted them into office. When will they catch on that they won. And that we wanted them to be in power.

And when will they get the backbone to stop the dims from running things as if they had won, i.e. judicial nominations and the successful attacks on Newt and Trent Lott.

You are in charge. Now act like it...

Reply 17 - Posted by: brg119, 4/11/2005 9:10:07 AM

With friends like Chrissy Shays, why would the republicans need enemies? I just wish we had some republicans to call these democrats on their tactics, but it seems they are either to lazy or to sleepy to see what is happening. Time to remove the gloves

Reply 19 - Posted by: Harmony1, 4/11/2005 9:18:50 AM

So Democrats want to talk 'Nepotism'? I even turned O'Reilly off the other night because he was jumping all over Tom DeLay.

Have the DemocRats forgotten their beloved JFK and His 'Nepotism'? Robert Kennedy, a brother, was Attorney General. His Brother-in-Law, Peter what's his name, can't recall this minute, was an Ambassador or something.. The entire Kennedy Presidency was a 'Family Affair'.

Tom DeLay has my support; having seen him stand firm in Congress concerning Judicial Tyranny has made him my Hero. He says what he means and means what he says and has Not backed down. God Bless Tom DeLay. We need more good men like Tom DeLay.

Turncoats are reprehensible. We've had enough Wimping-Out in Congress and elsewhere.

Reply 20 - Posted by: Opinionated Blowhard, 4/11/2005 9:28:43 AM

If the airing of Times dirty laundry over the past few years has shown anything its that EVERY "news" story in the NYT is written this way. The reporter has an idea in mind--a radically "progressive" idea--and then finds quotes and facts and statistics to build a "news" story that leads readers to the conclusion the reporter wants them to reach. These NYT reporters think its their job to cause the masses who read the Times to think in a more "enlightened", more "progressive" way. The ultimate goal is to get Dems into office and remove the GOP as effective opposition (hence the reason they love Shays--he's the useful idiot opposition that they'd keep around--and hate DeLay, who is effective opposition) and usher in an era of Politically Correct Socialist Utopia.

Reply 22 - Posted by: knub, 4/11/2005 9:40:07 AM

If you read the article linked by Drudge, you will find that Rick Santorum did not criticize DeLay. The lousy media is only reporting a part of his comments on DeLay. Santorum supports DeLay. The members of the Treason/Death Party are bringing up things that happened in the past and which are perfectly ethical and legal. DeLay has done nothing wrong. The democRATS are attempting to demonize him and the media is helping them.

Reply 23 - Posted by: UtahLurker, 4/11/2005 9:55:51 AM

The MSM won't get away with their 'politics of personal destruction' if those of us who are outraged at these baseless distortions and accusations fill up Speaker Hastert's e-mail system. The House Republicans need to stand up enmasse for the Hammer. IF the lib's really want more blood in the water, they can start their threatened Ethics Committee hearings with Nancy Pelosi, who has used the IDENTICAL, if not more 'dubious', political methods for which they claim DeLay is somehow 'guilty'.
Let the Games begin!

Reply 24 - Posted by: farmwife, 4/11/2005 9:57:16 AM

Every day I hear 'new' allegation about Tom DeLay. And every day it turns out the 'new' allegation is something they have been kicking around for 8-9 years. I have no problem with him hiring his family for campaigns, it's not illegal, it's not immoral. And that old canard about the appearance of impropriety! Puleeze! Democrats become so santimonious when Republicans won't let them have their way. Hang in there Tom, don't give them another scalp!

Reply 25 - Posted by: LadyVet, 4/11/2005 10:03:05 AM

This is an all-fronts assault on DeLay, started by the Dems who cowardly fled Texas to Oklahoma and New Mexico to avoid voting on redistricting. They got Ronnie Earle, a political hack of the highest order on level with Rahm Emmanuel, to press charges. Problem is, Ronnie Boy can't find anything or else he would have filed charges October 31, just before the 2004 election. One of the first things that needs to be done is have the Texas Legislature take that power away from Ronnie Earle and anyone from Travis County, the gayest, bluest, most drug-infested, Dem-infested part of Texas. They hate DeLay because he has a spine, because they are hateful anti-Christian bigots, in my opinion.

The Houston Chronicle is forming the left-flank in Houston to fight DeLay. They are in Partnership with CBS local affiliate, Channel 11 who joins in for the benefit of those who cannot read a newspaper. Cragg Hines and Gebe Martinez of the Chronicle's Washington Bureau are on the down low with Rahm and Barney Frank in this whole thing.

Every dime the Clinton's have, and that's a lot of dimes, is nepotism/collusion in one form or anotoher (whether getting paid for books that rot in warehouses or to give speeches from fame that wasn't earned). Neither Clinton has ever done a single days actual contribute-to-society work. So where was the press on this?

Reply 28 - Posted by: texaspast, 4/11/2005 10:47:35 AM

Hey, largegrayfeline - LTNS! The difference is the Clintons DID break the law. The press was totally thrilled by their ability to break the law and get away with it.

Reply 29 - Posted by: wyowumin, 4/11/2005 10:50:07 AM

It's Donk politics as usual. Slime, ruin reputations, demand apologies and will the Republicans roll over as usual? One would think that our Republican congressmen would get tired of not only being told what to do by the Reactionaries but would grow a backbone and stop going along with them.

Reply 30 - Posted by: Tulsa, 4/11/2005 11:02:56 AM

No way President Bush was going to campaign against a sitting Senator (specter) when we had the senate majority by one. No dayum bleeping way and anyone who thinks Rick or Bush could have or would have campaigned for Toomey and against specter, isn't thinking properly.

I read Rick's words from this weekend. He stated the obvious and what DeLay has already done and will continue to do. Tell the truth. He didn't bash DeLay one whit. DeLay hasn't done anything wrong. Everything is legal and DeLay knows it. No one is more politically saavy than Tom DeLay.

Reply 31 - Posted by: votedforbush, 4/11/2005 11:11:18 AM

When Nancy Pelosi's dirty behavior is brought out and tarred and feathered, I'll listen about (very powerful Conservative, despised by Dems) Tom DeLay. Until her act, along with Harry Reid's, are cleaned-up - those Mighty Mouse Republicans, Santorum and Shays should cease and desist.

Reply 34 - Posted by: janylou, 4/11/2005 11:42:16 AM

I agree w/ #28. HillBilly did break the law but were great at covering their trail. Who else could turn $1000 into $100000 in so short a time? And when congress starts seriously investigating Shrill and some of her antics re: this last campaign, then they can look at Delay. There was certainly more THERE THERE than in Delay's case.

Reply 35 - Posted by: Polecat49, 4/11/2005 11:55:15 AM

Isn't crissy shays one of the prime movers for election finance reform? That much extolled grand idea by him, McPain and a few dimwitcRATs and supposedly supported by the Majority of the People. Just in recent monthe it has been found out the GREAT DEMANDS of the people were bought and paid for by big money interest and the liberal, socialist, communist media and their cohorts in Congress.

Reply 37 - Posted by: Penney, 4/11/2005 12:34:08 PM

The dem fabricators/OBSTRUCTIONISTS are up to their sleazy redundant tricks AGAIN!

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!!!!!

Reply 38 - Posted by: William Sass, 4/11/2005 1:12:12 PM

Liberals = Teenagers who refuse to grow up.

Stand firm DeLay...I may not agree with all you do, but if you have been singled out...that means you are doing something right

Liberals ONLY fight that which threatens them. Can you imagine if John Ashcroft stole something that was in the National Archives or Codelezza Rice..c'mon. the media would be like jackels....Oh, they are Jackels..nevermind you get the point.

Reply 41 - Posted by: Tx2Step, 4/11/2005 2:59:44 PM

Tom DeLay is MY representative. I voted for him. I don't have to agree with every opinion he has. I form my opinions based on my own research and beliefs. If you agree 100% with someone, I have to believe you are a lost sheep in the middle of the flock. I have had conversations with this man on several occasions and I am satisfied with his answers. The libs are scared of him and with the help of the MSM they will work diligently to run him out of town. In his position I would want someone that I could trust to work for me. I see nothing wrong with that. This just an orchestrated effort by the dems with a lot of help from their friends. Smells to high heaven.

Reply 42 - Posted by: Don Marquis, 4/11/2005 3:32:59 PM

All I can recall shays doing was supporting klintoon in his failed effort to avoid impeachment.

Reply 43 - Posted by: shurnuff, 4/11/2005 3:33:18 PM

And should kerry have stepped down from being a candidate for the highest office in the land when he was accused (and proven) to be a traitor and a liar?

And why didn't these folks feel that clinton should step down, at least after he was actually impeached?

To liberals, accusations are enough to convict Republicans, but not democrats.

They are disgusting!

Reply 44 - Posted by: Tulsa, 4/11/2005 4:42:00 PM

shays speaks with a lisp. never liked him.

I would, however, never ever vote OUT a sitting RNC Senator or Rep. Any bad ones 'decide' not to run. they get the message form the RNC. the RNC is increasing numbers, not lowering them. that's how we change the process... that's how we undo what the left has done in increments for 70 years.

The thing with DeLay is p.u.n.i.s.h.m.e.n.t by soros, moveon, the left for redistricting in By God Texas. they lost their fannies there. They did.

Tulsa's fav. DeLay quote...an all time great one. Maybe the best quote ever in the history of the world. heh

'Most of all, Democrats hate the president because on every political issue of significance since he came to office, he has beaten them like rented mules. Tom DeLay

DeLay for Potus! or Newt! Neither is conservative enuf for Tulsa, but they're close.

2. These people are beyond delusional. They don't recognize
that Delay is being "distanced" by his own party.
