Poll question: Shouldn't the first woman elected President be a liberal?
Edited on Wed Apr-13-05 07:00 PM by Radical Activist
Hillary has been acting pretty conservative in her quest to be "electable."

5. I'm talking semantics.
Liberals are of another era. Progressive times call for Progressive values.

When did I say anthing about Sen. Clinton?

8. I said "Who?"
Because I didn't know who or what you were talking about. I guess you could have made that post less descriptive or specific but I'm not sure how.

15. Actually, it's quite simple. You said...
"Shouldn't the first woman elected President be a liberal?" And I said, "No, she'll be a Progressive." As in, it's to our advantage to call ourselves "Progressives," rather than trying to salvage the damaged label "liberal." Purely a semantic point.

Clear enough now? Sorry for the confusion.

NGU.

12. Kay Bailey Hutchinson
that is obviously why she is trying to take Perry out as Governor of Texas. There is no other reason to leave the Senate to run for that position. The Governor of Texas is merely a figure head. The Lieutenant Governor actually runs the state.

Other possibilities are Elizabeth Dole and of course Barbara Boxer (:loveya:)

Whom some have cited as a rising star. I've never been impressed with her myself, but I haven't followed her career closely.

11. My only concern is that women not be excluded a priori
Liberal, moderate, conservative--that all depends on the mood of the nation at the time of any given election. What bothers me is people who say we shouldn't nominate a woman because she can't win. With friends like that, who needs enemies?
