I have to disagree with Auntie Pinko today |
|

Read it on the home page.
The question to Auntie Pinko was:
"There's lots of evidence out there that since the Reagan days the Republican agenda has been to deliberately run up huge deficits so that there will be no money left over for social programs.
My question is this: what kind of society do the Republicans envision if they get their way? Are they seeking a return to the Middle Ages with some sort of modern-day equivalent of serfs and vassals serving a hugely wealthy few on bended knee?"
Auntie Pinko basically says no, making the point that there are millions of middle-class repugs who would not benefit from the medieval fiefdom business model.
I have to say Auntie Pinko is wrong on this one. Repugs make no secret that their main agenda is to tear down every social program started by FDR, including of course, social security. FDR is their own personal satan, they would spit on his grave, they think he started us on the road to communism.
It is well documented that the run-up-the-deficit and starve-the-beast tactic started by Reagan and continued by bush is a deliberate method of killing social programs. There was an obscure book published in the Nixon era calling for the repugs to do exactly that. And what do you know, they have.
That being said, the answer to the question is still no. Repugs do not envision that the ideal society is one of serfs serving nobility. They simply do not have the foresight to see that this is where they will lead the country. Like spoiled children, they want what they want, and cannot think ahead and see the consequences of their actions.
If you want proof of their foolish shortsightedness, just at the disaster that is Iraq war. They will abolish social programs with the same wacko child-like optimism they had when the sent our soldiers into Iraq to be greeted as liberators. They'll say "We're just forcing Americans to pull themselves up by their bootstraps!" (yeah yeah) And another thing: those millions of middle class republicans, they don't count. What is good for them doesn't matter, they will only be courted for their votes. The only republicans that will influence the course of this country are the handful who are handful of neocons who are pulling the strings. And they will demolish all social programs to rid this nation of the scourge of FDR, and we will ultimately become a third world nation.

The rich repukes want, want, want & are blinded by greed. As for the poor & middle class repukes, the rich ones are only using them to further their agenda & will toss them aside like a used paper towel when they no longer serve their purpose. However, I think there are going to be some majorly pissed of people when that happens. But by then it will be too late & there will be little they can do.
