A "highly placed official" on Coulter and her ilk. |
|
This e-mail came to me in a roundabout way. I wish the hell I could tell you who said it, but it is a private message about Ann Coulter, replying to a relative of the author.
You would DEFINITELY recognize the name. I guess I'll just call the person "a highly placed official" during the Viet Nam...um...conflict?
"Not surprising. Did you know that woman (Ann Coulter) once said that I was responsible for America losing the Viet Nam war? I can't say I'm surprised that her minions have isolationist, might is right views.
One lesson that I've drawn from my life is the value and necessity of the freedom of debate, and that's what the country should be focusing on. If you accept that tragedy happens, and I certainly believe the majority of Americans today do, you should ask how it came about (Vietnam, 9/11..etc.).
It is often in the best interest of the power elite to reinforce a "poor me", "fight back", "might is right" attitude, as these are basic feelings every human can relate to and it's often so much easier to buy into this propaganda than to ask the hard questions about "WHY?"."

Her and her ilk are clearly in power on most fronts, and they still employ the "victim" rhetoric.
Debate; God, how I wish we could have that again.
Very interesting stuff.
Edit: unnecessary verbiage.

currently in office or not?
if not currently in office -- then I'd guess it was Colin Powell
given his position on Iraq invasion, he's been a Coulter target

I'm not messing with you. I promised I would not attribute and that I would even do a little (very little) paraphrasing to keep the author anonymous. Damn, I wish I could say. Probably never should have started this thread. :-(

6. I thought we lost because people like Dumbya went AWOL! |
|
Baron Von Cokespoon would have been a top ACE, if he'd just not chickened out! Charles wouldn't have had a chinaman's chance if that highly trained Life Taker & Heart Breaker(G Dumbya)would have just showed up! The Bush family had their sights set on crushing America instead, I guess and boy have they done that!

I heard him speak a few years ago - it was hard to believe it was the same guy as the man who was responsible for the war. Lots of soul searching been going on over the last few decades, it seemed to me, at least.

Yanno, this would make a strong basis for *us* (Dems) fighting *them* (RW). A huge frame could be built around this concept right here in River City.
