WalMart low on food, no Ice. (coastal Alabama) |
|
We try to stay out of there, but Miz t. needed some ice, bulk paper plates & such for a neighborhood Labor Day cookout.
Many grocery shelves were empty and there was no ice left. A clerk told her it was a combination of few shipments coming in (no gas) and a huge number of refugees from Mississippi and Louisiana. Evidently Foley, Alabama is now a refugee center. We're about the closest intact, functioning town east of the worst hurricane damage. Mobile, just to our west, is still a mess.
There is only one gas station in our whole town open. Cars are lined up for blocks, and cops are directing traffic.
It's like all the elements of a perfect storm are coming together. :scared:

the closest walmart DC to you is in Brubridge AL... I've been in it, and if they're running out of ice cream, that place must be bare.
good luck, and keep your head down.
owning a gun at this point may be a good idea.

2. We're having the same problem Trof |

I had to go there today, and the supply looked like what it does the day before we're expecting a hurricane here. Lot full of MS and LA tags too. The place was just crazy actually. Our shelters are still full of course. Didn't pay any attention to gas stations since I filled up yesterday.
