This weekend's events

I know that many people will be coming to Washington for the End the War on Iraq rally here this weekend. This event will show the Bush White House how widespread the opposition is to the administration's war. I hope to see you if you can make the trip.

At 10:30 Saturday morning I will be at the rally in front of the Washington Monument. At 11:30 I will lead the march through Washington alongside Cindy Sheehan.

On 10:00 Sunday morning, I will be speaking at the Progressive Democrats of America's Grassroots Strategy Day at the University of the District of Columbia's Clarke School of Law.

2. If only we had more DEMS
with guts and integrity like Mr. Conyers. My kids might have a chance.

3. That's how I feel too! I had the opportunity to meet him once,
back during the Iran-Contra times. My friends and I were regularly sitting in on hearings of Biden's subcommitte on Western Hemisphere affairs--to boo the liars like Henry Hyde and Elliot Abrams. We just walked into Conyers outer office and he came out and shook our hands and invited us to sit and chat with him. We talked about what we had to do to change things in this country. He was so charming and bright and welcoming. I've never forgotten it and will alway be an admirer and supporter.

4. There is a new post postulating * is afraid of "one woman"
See http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=104&topic_id=4869030&mesg_id=4869030

I agree * is afraid of Cindy and has retreated to a bunker and called out the troops for a counter terrorist exercise.

But I strongly disagree with the statement "and the rest of the lawmakers simply left town".

I'm sure it was well-meant, but it was innacurate.

Mr. Conyers will be leading the demonstration with Cindy.
