Did you ever in your life have people throwing at you constantly |
|
all the different ways you could die? Smallpox, anthrax, dirty bombs, suitcase nukes, bird flu, waiting on the roof for FEMA, heat stoke in your car while evacuating, etc. etc. Pretty soon people are going to start thinking that if they are going to die anyhow they might as well do it in furtherance of some activity we can't talk about here.

1. One way to look at it... |
|
Most humans that ever lived, have had to live with war, plague and famine as real, immediate threats. So, what you're seeing is just more of the same.
If some people (like myself) in developed countries have grown up without those immediate threats, it's really the exception, not the rule.

That's why consumer confidence is down. Small business friends of mine have seen it in their bottom line since a week after Katrina. People are genuinely down!

... and I live on the Gulf coast. I have loaded up with hurricane survival supplies, but have put off that 'big-ass TV' purchase to save up some evac $$ (around 2K so far), and travel ONLY for business, (which is reimbursed).
My neighbor just filled up (21 gal.) at $70.00
Waiting on some good commission checks too...
