Mehlman's comment on Miers vs Souter |
|
He said the problem with Souter was that Bush Sr did not know him and did not recognize his liberal inclinations. My question: Souter was/is very good friends with former New Hampshire Senator John Sununu. Souter had worked for Sununu, donated to Sununu. How could Bush Sr. not have been aware of these things because I'm sure Sununu knew it. Another Scrubbo lie -- in my humble opinion.

1. Earl Warren, asshole Mehlman |

Just because you're nominated doesn't mean you lock step and goosestep to the republican mantra.
Jesus, no wonder you people have morans for followers. It requires no independent thought to be a Republican neo-con.

3. Do you think it makes a difference...... |
|
that once a Supreme Court Justice is confirmed, this person thinks to him/herself, "I don't have to kiss these people's asses any more, I don't have to pretend to be something just to get ahead, I'm there now, I can think any damned thing I want"? I've often wondered if there have been some changes of heart once they're confirmed. The pressure is off, this person can finally think for themselves NOT how some political idiot wants them to think. Do you think this has ever happened, and if so, whom?

4. Yes, I think that happens frequently. |

Supreme Court is for life, no one can do anything to you because of a decision you make - you can only be removed if you commit a crime. Plus exposure to more points of view generally encourages a person towards liberalism.
Just look at the track record of justices appointed by conservative presidents - Earl Warren, Harry Blackmun most notably.

5. So the problem with Souter is that he's not an extremist? |
|
And the reason we got Souter was because crooked old Poppa Bush picked a crony?
