Thom Hartmann's conspiracy theory re: Frist's SEC problems
In a nutshell: Frist comes out in support of stem cell research, sort of. Bushturd hates disloyalty. Tells Rove to smear Frist. Rumors appear all of a sudden that Frist family business is the largest abortion provider in the US. Frist panicks: this is getting political. Calls his "blind trust" manager to sell all stock of the abortion hospitals. Says he tried to avoid any semblance of conflict of interest. Exactly! (Abortion profiteering does not go well with presidential aspirations.) The stock tanks, either by coincidence or because Rove knew this in advance and Frist was set up for SEC. SEC starts to investigate. Frist is cooked. What do you think?

1. I've seen that theory on DU when it first happened.
It's not a stretch at all.

2. I think that about says it in a nutshell...
That's the way those folks deal with political enemies and disloyalty. Politics (on both sides of thei aisle, but especially in Bushland) is a filthy game. We need to shine some light on these tactics to cleanse that filth, and elect some new and "cleaner" blood into the mix.

Otherwise, we all get dirty just watching.

4. The day he stood before Congress..
and swung his support toward stem cell so he could appear almost human to the American people ,he was done. Neocons take no prisoners.
