Hasn't he got anything better to do than play MC and tourist. We're going to hell in a hand basket and he is off to play! Our government is beyond control. But then again, maybe this is really "work". How many millions of dollars did this take???

1. Do you think someone explained to him what all those things made up
of paper are on the shelves?

4. Arnuld is mad 'cause people may not drink kool-aid during Nov 8 election.
http://www.cnn.com/2005/POLITICS/10/21/bush.ap/index.html

They said his appearance at a $1 million Republican National Committee fundraiser was poorly timed because of the upcoming special election.

Republican Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger is trying to court independents and Democrats, two voter blocs that typically haven't supported Bush.

Schwarzenegger is pushing several initiatives on the Nov. 8 ballot, including extending the probationary period for teachers, requiring public employee unions to get written permission from members before dues can be used for political purposes and capping state spending.

5. I was driving to work today, and suddenly everyone forgot how to
drive. Cars swerving everywhere. It was amazing, as if the collective intelligence of everyone in the state had suddenly lowered significantly.

Thanks for the explanation. :)

6. Better that he be doing nothing than "leading"
Every time he tries that, things get even worse.

7. Maybe the press will get another shot of him
holding a book upside down pretending he knows how to read.

Expect more of this PR crap. The administration has to give the
appearance that all is well, that both Smirk and Big Dick are not
the least bit worried about what is happening, hence they can
fly around the country for fundraisers and photo ops.

It's all one big show, as always.

8. If Bush is at the Reagan library...
It may cause a vortex of evil to open up that is so powerful, it rips a hole in the fabric of space and time.

Someone call the library now and tell them to pull the fire bell or something, get everybody out of there!

Quickly, before we lose all hope!

9. don't get disgusted since this is just a desperate attempt to have
the Reagan followers associate him (*) with Reagan...and it will actually work against him 'cause the Reagan supporters will react just like you do...

10. it's pathetic more than disgusting

Who knows, maybe some prayer at the altars in St. Ronnie's Temple will do some good.... :-)

Actually, I suspect it's sort of like a nostalgic farewell tour that an aging rock band does when its last album shows that its audience is going or close to gone. The familiar hits are rolled out one more time. The limelight is there, and the love of the fans. But the crowds are and feel smaller, the tunes are a bit shaky and slower, the voices are creaky, the lyrics feel tired, it's not wild ecstatics and news and discovery anymore. And they only tour the places where they had a lot of fans and connection, familiar venues. The band's moment has passed, what it stood for and what it had to say is absorbed and enough, the world knows it and has moved on. And the band knows it too.

I don't know whether the Bush people understand this on a rational level, this big picture that the Nixon politics of trying to make time stand still, of rehashing and reliving and revelling in the past, is past its time. If they do, of course it's the last thing they'll admit to their underlings or us. But this whole way they've recently cut Dubya loose from his 'real job' of trying to sell the people on the hard points of their agenda is kind of revealing. The poor fellow is obviously breaking against the rapidly widening and intensifying sales resistance and probably developing some second thoughts on what he got talked into earlier.

12. It could be worse. . . . .
You could actually have to live in the "Home of Ronald Reagan" like I do and take the "Ronald Reagan Freeway" to work every single day.
