**ALL** Dems to Media: "Fuck You" (A rant and an honest suggestion) |
|
The last few days have been good for us .... or so the facts would indicate. But here's a fact that belies all that:
The media is on overdrive to marginalize and make into cartoon cutouts any Dem they encounter.
To be sure, Chris Matthews (speaking to his 'huge' 140,000 person audience) is the very worst of them.
It might well be the right time for the Dems to simply tell the media go get fucked. Just stop doing their stupid talking head shows. It might just be time to stop participaiting in the shouting game that is the false moral equivalency debates the media so love. It is time for the likes of Rep. McKinney to stay off shows like CNN's morning blatherfest with So Low Daddy's Girl. It is time for the likes of Gov. Dean to stay off shows like Hardballs where the host fucking LAUGHS AT HIM.
How long can they even appear to be credible if they have no opposition voice on?
How long can they shout at each other?
How long can they be seen as anything approaching honest if they only present one side?
How long till the sheeple wake up and see what life would be like with only a Republicanm voice?
How long till their ratings are lower than the Tidy Bowl Man's rowboat keel?
I know. How do we get our message out?
Well, how are we getting it out now? Sure as shit it ain't the fucking media that's helping, now is it?
Just boycott every last one of these shitbird motherfuckers. Turn the airwaves into a 24/7 Rush Limpballs festival.
God DAMN it. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

1. I like the way you think. |
|
I really don't think we should run up to their leg and hump it everytime a show asks one democrat to share a segment with 5 conservatives.
You're right. Fuck THEM.

2. Democrats need to insist on balance |
|
and the formula of two frothing wingnuts shouting down one tepid DLC Democrat is counterproductive to the party.
Any show that sticks to this formula should be boycotted.
Any show with an abusive host should be boycotted.
There is a danger in allowing just the neocon viewpoint unanswered, but that's basically what's happening now with the wingnut talk show formulas. The tepid DLC guy barely gets a word in anywhere between the two shouting lunatics.

3. I'm at a loss to be sure. All that I do watch is c-span (Wash. Jrnl. every |
|
morning) and some during the day. I watch LinkTV and FreeSpeechTV, History Channel, Discovery Channel, Science Channel (especially with the younguns). When the local radio station fired one left-leaning host (Max Hackett, 102.3 talk radio) and replaced him with Limpballs I quit listening to the station, purchased a satellite radio unit and I listen long enough in that time slot to determine who locally I won't be doing business with and the national advertisers, too.
I watch local stations (that suck shit, BTW) just long enough to determine how my kids need to dress for school. I'm not quite sure how to boycott anymore than I currently do.
Oh, your headbanging is gonna make me pull up the Scandal song, Goodbye to You, listen to it on my computer. (MY spouse refers to that as headbanging music).

If you must listen to right wing tripe, listen to talk radio, it’s free.
Why would you * PAY * for propaganda cable news shows like FOX, MSNBC and CNN?
Cancel your cable bill!!!!!

6. It is also my internet connection ....... |
|
That said, there's a lot on cable I also watch. History, HGTV, Food Network, Discovery.
Broadcast tevvee is just plain vile so I watch the few non-sitcom, non-political channels for relaxation.
I watch the blatherfests while I work. Radio with a view, kinda.
Our telco just installed fiber optic and are now offering internet that way and its a bigger pipe than cable. Some neighbors have it. I'll see how their service goes and then I may switch. The telco will also offer teevee soon.

7. We're thinking about changing the dish that we have to the improved one |
|
(DishNet) that now picks up wireless internet, which wasn't available when we changed from DirecTV (big Bush donors) to DishNet. We'll eliminate our need for BellSouth phone service (taken over by AT&T, big Bush donors) and we'll use our cellphones for phone service. We'll save money and we won't be stroking those who supported Bush**.

8. I’ve gotten used to Broadcast TV |
|
24 is my favorite show. It is really good, you should check it out.
The comedy Sons and daughters on Tuesdays on ABC is good too.
I cancelled my cable in 2000. If nothing good is on, I’ll rent a movie.
I get my news and political fix on the internet and I will occasionally listen to right wing radio but there is no way in hell I’ll pay for that crap on cable.
