c-span 2 reran the amy goodman segment this morning, so I was actually able to finally see it. thank you, c-span 2.

she made a comment that I found rather interesting, in a train-wreck kind of way. she said that having the US so involved in iraq might have actually allowed the various south american countries to get on with what they want to do, without the US being able to use the military to interfere.

thoughts? comments??

1. Chavez would not exist
if our efforts weren't concentrated elsewhere.

Argentina
Columbia
(hopefully Obrador in) Mexico

3. I've been saying this in my latest posts.
while the U.S. has been distracted with its Dante's Inferno in iraq, Latin America made a Left Turn.

Here's the real irony: the Bush administration decided the BIG PRIZE was Iraq. (and of course, Iran with its gazillion barrels of Light, Sweet Crude).

The way things are going, Bush is going to lose them both.

Note to Bush: when you are only 3.8% of the world's population, it's a little tough to jerk the other 96% around.

4. The Bush Cabal members are getting too old to understand this
They're likely consoling themselves with happy visions of de-stabilizing them there mountain guerrilla commies, once they're done decorating all the permanent bases in Iraq.

As if.

They're really out of it.
