Premise: Bush ready to attack Iran!!!
Edited on Wed Feb-14-07 11:58 AM by General Lee
In today's news conference bush claimed a group called the Quds is supplying weapons to kill our troops in Iraq. The Quds he said are part of the Iranian government. He mentioned that while he did not know exactly who issued the order to supply weapons, nonetheless, he would protect our troops. When asked if he was supplying an excuse to attack Iran he replied he was not supplying an excuse but he would protect our troops. Considering he is unable to "protect" our troops in Iraq itself; considering it is rumored he is sending a third carrier force to the area; considering he said he will protect our troops: ergo he is set to attack and soon.

Quod Erat Demonstrandum

1. Since it doesn't matter whether the Iranian government knows or not,
the same thing is going to happen either way.

It's like saying "It doesn't matter who committed a crime, we're going to bomb the whole town." Very same attitude that lead to Shock and Awe.

3. Is he gonna suit up the Terrible Twins and send them over to
fight? Are they gonna go take someone's place? Is Commander AWOL going to go over there and personally do his 'duty' that he should have done years ago back during Viet Nam?

Because otherwise, he ain't protecting anyone.

4. Not a doubt in my mind about it. He's also not going to Congress
for it. He's setting up the "protecting the troops as Commander in Chief war powers" foundation. There are already a whole slew of his people that believe he has the authority through IWR and the much broader "Global War on Terror". Someone really needs to grill him AND Congress about the question: "When did Congress declare a war on terror? Where's that document? How will we know when it's over?"

It's interesting how he claims force protection by placing the force into impossible situations with no clear mission.

The only slim hope is that he and Cheney are removed from power. Maybe it's (past) time the UN stepped in. Bush seems to be leaving them completely out of the "coversation" over Iran.
