Guiliani tax cut success in NYC? |
|
has there been any analysis of NYC fiscal health which would separate the "Clinton booming market" from the results of the tax cuts. Wall Street was rocking in the 90's which would make NYC roll around in dollars.

3. The only thing I remember is the "tax free" day BS |
|
I was living in NJ at the time and the sales tax was much lower than the combined state and city for NYC. I can say there were a lot of people coming to NJ on the weekends to spend their money. I'm no big shopper, but I'd figure that it would be a wash. If you can drive 15 miles and pay less than buying it down the street wouldn't you?

4. Bloomberg came in and raised taxes |

to restore NYC to some fiscal stability, so Rudy was doing something WRONG or Bloomy wouldn't have had to fix it. Bloomy raised property taxes big time.
