NEOCON--Dem Candidates, Say The Word!
I have noticed that our 3 front-runners tend to heap blame on Bush, which is all well and good. The problem, though, is that many disgruntled R's, as well as indies and non-political junkies, will simply assume that Chimpy is an incompetent boob (goes without saying), and think that the NEXT Republican prez will do a MUCH better job, so why not vote for him? A "clean slate" mentality. The average American probably has never heard the word "Neoconservative" or PNAC, and doesn't even realize that Chimpy IS one of them.

We need to make clear that the GOP EMBODIES the Neoconservative movement, the folks who rained hell down on Iraq for sordid reasons, profiteered, killed our soldiers, and wrecked our budget and our standing in the world. The next GOPer prez will continue this onslaught. Our candidates need to say the word, connect the movement and the philosophy to ALL Republicans, and warn ordinary Americans that it means endless war, the conquest of Iran, and the further deterioration of our relations with the Muslim world, and thus our security.

1. As far as I can tell
all the leading GOP Presidential candidates have swallowed the Neocon program, hook, line, and sinker - and it is surely sinking. I judge this on the basis of their attitude toward the war. I agree with you that there must be many in the GOP ranks who know better.

presidency to the next GOPer--he will just assume that a new guy means a whole new approach. I wish someone like Obama would start using the term "neocon Republican" to describe the GOPer assholes in Congress and the prez race, because connecting the movement to Congress and the candidates will help people see that it's not "one" guy who fucked up. Bush is not just the front man for an administration, but for an entire enterprise--think tanks, several magazines, the head of the World Bank, Regents, the WaPO editorial board, etc.

Edit to say, I want them all slandered with the word until it becomes as poisonous as the word "liberal" became in the 90's under Limbaugh.

4. the problem is their fears of the dems is still pretty strong, your right
in that they will listen to this message of "we are different" simply because they want to even knowing deep down inside it is more than likely a lie....

I wish this unnatural fear of anything considered even remotely liberal would stop, it is so nuts, they must really listen to hannity;coulter and the like and take thier word as golden...simply mind boggling...

I don't understand the division in this country or why politicians would push it so much, after all, my husband is one of them, obviously I am the total opposity, there are many of us, the bottom line, we are all Americans and should find a way to embrace our differences and a responsible journalist and politician honestly caring about the safety and future of this country should take that into account and stop dividing us so often.

2. All one has to do is view thier records, lock step and march behind
thier great leader is all they accomplished in seven years, if it took them seven years to realize he is a nutjob, what does that say about their ability to make better calls as the new leader of our country?

It should be easy to oust thier hypocrisy. I mean they didn't even hide it.

the Chimperor's every disaster and screw-up to THEIR nominee, and it will be easy if it's someone like Rudy, who said Chimpy was a GREAT president, thank God George Bush is our president, etc. But will that be enough? I read where some Republicans were griping after the Dem debate that "Dems blame everything on Bush, but Bush isn't running." That's where using the "neocon" word might come in handy, especially as a code word for Iraq and Iran policy--journalists use it, bloggers use it, it now carries a negative connotation. Our candidates should use it as a weapon to "paint" all GOPers with the same brush, just as they all call us "moonbats" and libs, and try to tie all Dem candidates to the "extremist" MoveOn crowd. GOPers are better at using the power of words to define and damage us--now we have an entire discredited movement at our disposal, and not one Dem has said the word.
