Obama about Iowa Poll: 'Who would have thunk it?'
Ames, Ia. -- A crowd of around 1,000 people celebrated the news of Barack Obama’s showing in the latest Iowa poll with thunderous applause and screams as supporters announced the news just minutes after it was announced online tonight.

The event, at Iowa State University’s Memorial Union, is the last 2007 campaign stop for Obama. He took the stage at around 9:40 p.m., an hour and 10 minutes later than scheduled, telling the crowd that “Democrats have been waiting for 2008 for a while.”

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

“It’s beyond the margin of error so we just might pull this thing off, Iowa. Who would have thunk it?” Obama asked the crowd.

Roughly 25 percent of the crowd who indicated they plan to caucus raised their hand when Obama asked if they remain undecided.

“We’re coming after you. You’re in our sights,” Obama said.

2. He's said something very similar to that in every Obama
I've been to but can't argue with wat is apparently working. Of course not saying that this is 'the' reason his numbers are up.

3. Wow ...
... quoting the DES MOINES REGISTER poll as a way to energize your crowd, is downright desperation time. Didn't they also endorse Hillary ? And aren't they always 100% wrong ?

Not good to be quoting this or ANY poll at this time, if you ask me. Just think of the polls the Murdoch-backed candidate will be able to quote in the next election, when the polls/media are controlled by two or three entities. The Clintons quoted the polls for months. Now Obama. So sad for true democracy.

EDWARDS 2008 ! HAPPY 2008 !!

9. "thunderous applause and screams"
The best thing about that poll may be right there in that sentence. Candidates will take energy and enthusiasm from any place they can get it right now. There are few better rallying points than a favorable DMR poll three days out from the caucus.
