Poll questions I just received: |
|
Are you planning on attending the caucuses? Are you planning on watching the Orange Bowl? What time does your caucus begin? Who will you be supporting?(Clinton/Edwards/Obama/Other/Undecided) Who is your second choice? (Clinton/Edwards/Obama)
I hung up after the last question (yeah, it took me that long) b/c the question on the 'second choice'.....well, you all know by now :puke:

2. Was the "what time does your caucus begin?" a trick question? Do they start |

4. No, I think it was a 'trick question' to see if Iowans know |
|
But...since I'll be home watching the Orange Bowl I don't know what time the 'voting' begins

20. By sheer coincidence I posted a question about how they measure who is a "likely caucus goer"... |
|
And someone told me that they ask questions like "where is your caucus location?" to determine that. I would asume that this is the same type of question, intended to see if you're "likely" to caucus or not.

My hubby and I took turns answering the phone tonight. We were watching the Sugar Bowl and the phone rang every 10 minutes.
We kept track:
Richardson Edwards Obama Biden Dodd Obama

8. Ahhhh...you'll be getting what us Iowans... |
|
...are getting this week! The week of the caucus/vote is the worst!
Good strategy--telling them who you're voting for.
The calls will stop for a day or two.
Then they all start calling again, begging you to consider their candidate as a second-choice--should you change your mind on your current first choice.

12. Biden (live and robo call), Edwards, Obama, poll & poll & robo call for upcoming Clinton event |
|
When the first pollster asked me who I would go to for my second choice if my first choice wasn't vialbeI asked him why I couldn't stay with my first choice and try to get people to help me in making my candidate viable. He said, "Oh, Okay". Poor guy. He's only doing his job x(

17. Did you get canvassers today? |
|
We usually get some people knocking on doors.
Nothing today.
It was so horrendously cold. I can't imagine that anyone could be out in that for more than 15 minutes, without turning to ice.
I saw "sun dogs" today though...that was pretty cool!
Brrrr...I hope it warms up for Thursday!

22. We live in the country so no canvassers |
|
but an Edwards supporter did come by before Christmas (a first at our house!). She was there to see our son so we left them to talk. When she was done pitching Edwards he tried to turn her on to Biden (He's a Biden precinct captain)!

On another thread, it was suggested that the football game question was a subtle way of suggesting that watching the game might be a more enjoyable activity than attending the caucus.
Especially since the football game question was question number two (ahead of the slightly more important "who are you supporting?", they saw it as a pointed reminder by the pollster that the football game was on the same day at the same time.

26. Seriously - how would they know what Biden or Dodd's poll numbers |
|
really are if they are not even mentioned?
From what I have been reading online, not only from blogs, but from comments from Iowans on blogs - Biden is definitely above 5%!

27. I agree - the polls are useless b/c of how the questions were asked |
|
doesn't stop 'the big three' from using the bs poll information to rally their supporters. Guess January 3rd will prove me right/wrong.
