5. I think many of the DUer's who see Huckabee as a threat...
do so, in part, because he represents a threat to Church/State separation, as do many on the right and some, I fear, on the Left.

It is a major concern of mine (I am doing my Graduate work on one aspect of it); what type of discussions have you tried to initiate. I haven't seen them...

13. I think TwilightZone probably has the right answer....
I suspect just about everyone here desires Church/State separation, believes it is what the Founders intended with the First Amendment (including the Constitutional injunction that"no religious test" shall be required to hold public office, and considers it one of the main threats issuing from the Right...

15. If I were a reporter and interviewing Huckster, Here's what I'd ask:
Governor Huckabee - since you have made it clear that you are opposed to the separation of church and state, what are your specific plans for merging the two? Will you be delivering a church sermon for your inaugural address? Will you be proudly supporting the bible as the supreme law of our land? And will you be holding the public stonings of gays and adulterers on the White House lawn, or perhaps over by the Washington Memorial where the view is better?

18. In a way, Helen Thomas beat you to it...
In a press conference shortly after Bush's inauguration in 2001, she reminded him that "he had been elected president, not national priest" (or words to that effect) and, of course, Bush got all defensive and pissy...

People hate being called out on their crap.

If I can find a link to the soundbite, I will post it...

6. I haven't seen any of your other posts on the subject
That doesn't mean I'm uninterested. There are all kinds of reasons threads sink like rocks.

7. There's probably a lack of discussion because there's near 100% agreement on the issue here.
It's one of the few issues that nearly everyone on DU seems to agree on.

17. Yes! Yes! Yes!
Do you support Church/State separation?
I can't believe we are even asking this question. It's been clear since the founding of this country, and our Constitution. No co-mingling of government and religion.

I remember very active threads on this subject (however, I don't remember who started the threads Sorry!).
