Evan Glarum, 8, walks the picket line with his father, Sivert, right, a striking film and television writer, outside NBC Studios Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2008, in Burbank, Calif. NBC's "Tonight" show is set to return to the air Wednesday night without writers, with GOP presidential candidate Mike Huckabee, a veteran politician who should be comfortable speaking off the cuff.

3. Isn't a scab someone who crosses the picket line to take the job of a striking worker?
"The Tonight Show" isn't being produced with 'scab' writers, it's being produced without writers. The difference is meaningful to me.

6. Yes, that is the Union definition of a "scab"...
but a point is being made, and as a former Shop Steward, I find it taking the position a bit to the extreme, but I really don't have a problem w/it. After all, the Wingnuts wold be doing far worse if this was a D...about time we met them on their turf...:)

7. That's no better nor worse than children at abortion pickets.
If the child was asked what the sign meant, would the child be able to answer?

Are you praising the parents or condemning them, Amerigo, for putting their child out there like that?
