1. I don't think he's a Republican. But I can see how his
compulsive pandering confuses people.

2. His precint captains wont be republicans anymore
once they switch parties tomorrow. And you should thank Obama for convincing republicans to embrace progressive values.

5. NO YOU ARE WRONG
they are generally stupid...who want what is best for the country ...just like you want what is best for the coutnry. They vote for evil little bastards. But they mean well. If you want a President who will 'stick it to the republicans', 'fight them tooth and nail', or 'will ignore them completely' then you are adding to the problem... We need someone to unite the country not divide and not someone like chimpy who pretends to want to unite. I am not advocating policy compromise...I am advocating reaching out a hand of friendship to the "voters" on the other side of the isle.

11. NO! Every time a Dem has reahed out a hand, it's been bitten off!
I'm tired of the Dems always "trying to get along" and the pubs pound them down and stab them in the back while smiling the whole time. If there's ever going to be a chance tha the parties will "get along" it's going to have to be a move from the pubs FIRST!

I don't want any Dem candidate trying to get along! We've tried for too long wihout any reciprocation!

14. Bwahahahahahahha!!!!! Yeah, they've compromised on soooo many things this past year.
Republics DO NOT NEGOTIATE, they DO NOT COMPROMISE. Sure, they say they will, but once they've popped your cherry, they tell the whole school you put out.

A Democratic President, a bunch more seats in Congress and those available in the Senate will end the obstructionist Rethuglican's reign of terror.

7. LOL! the idiots
are people who'll vote for repukes or third party. That's the very definition of voting against your interests. But why would anyone expect anything above that level from you? And if you think that makes you independent, you're delusional. It makes you a petulant crybaby.

12. I'm sorry......but it appears that Edwards needs Republicans
to tell him when he's making mistakes! I find that kinda of odd, cause Democrats could tell him all of that too!

John Edwards vowed Monday to include Republicans in his Cabinet if he's elected president.
"Here's why: because I'm looking for the strongest, most capable, most independent-minded people I can find. I want people around me who will say, 'You're wrong about this, and you could do grave damage if you do it. Mr. President, you need to change your mind,'" he said. "Because I'm not perfect, I'm capable of making mistakes."

Edwards capable of making mistakes? No shit? :wow:

So Why does Edwards feel so compelled to have to announce that he knows that he needs GOP members telling him when he is wrong......and to help him change his mind?

Rhapsody something as I recall. I've always been a huge fan of Eliot's. Never found him impenetrable at all, but very evocative. When my son was little I used to read him Cats all the time. He still loves it.

Edited on Thu Jan-03-08 05:56 AM by Onlooker
Obama knows he has considerable liberal support, so he's trying to undermine Hillary by going after her base (moderates). Meanwhile, that leaves Edwards to sweep up most of the liberals and those who don't think it's important to give blacks or woman a historic chance at the presidency.

29. By your "duck" logic, I guess I am too...
Two of my best friends are Republican and I hired three republicans in my department in the past two years. By your "duck" logic, I guess I'm Republican too. That's a shame-- means I can't vote for Edwards.

Must be tough when your own 'logic' bites you on the ass and loses a vote for your guy... but that's usually what happens when you vilify an opponent in an attempt to garner votes.

For most people, the strength of the candidate they support should be more than enough advertising. But like in the auto industry, when your own product is defective and won't sell well on it's own merits, simply yell loud that the other guys products are even worse.
