|
It's just that the Richardson and Biden camps don't want it public. That's why their denials say there's no "deal". Well, there isn't one. It's just Richardson and Biden deciding to send votes to Obama for their own self-interest.

9. Biden campaign has told their precinct captains that there is no deal |
|
and to not listen to the rumors coming from the Obama campaign.
Why would Biden campaign say that to the very people who are supposed to direct Biden supporters in the event he's not viable? If they'd cut a deal they would have instructed their precinct captains on what to do. They told them to stand strong for Biden.
No Deal.

No Deal has been made, whoever is making those comments to the press is either not with the campaign or not in the same boat as the campaign.
They've never heard the 'viability for victory' comment.
Biden supporters are being told to stand strong and DON'T cut deals.

If the MSM picks up on it then it will be all over the news and even when the Richardson camp and the Biden camp have the time to deny the rumor (the MSM has only been focusing on Obama and two others)the story will be the rumor not the denial.
Smart move on the Obama camps part. Slimy, but smart.

I haven't seen where this is coming from Obama's camp. I've read several of these things. Now, if it were Obama's camp as the source, I would say it's pretty ordinary politics; slimy as that can be, this would be far from what I've seen as slimy. But when you say it is coming from Obama's camp, where are you getting that from? I would appreciate seeing the source. I'm not being bitchy. I want to know.

What I haven't seen is the originating source of the rumor as Obama's campaign. Just people saying it must be the case. Do I have it right that "Nope" means you don't have a link saying the rumor started with Obama's campaign?

Obama advisers hear rumors and repeat them just like any other political freak. The only official statement by the Obama campaign is that the rumors are not true. I wouldn't mind if they were true, for that matter, it's politics. But all we've got is rumor and we don't know whether it originated in Obama's campaign or in a rival campaign. Is it even conceivable that all campaigns aren't wheeling and dealing in Iowa? Not to me.

10. Um, nowhere does it say this info. came from the Obama camp |
|
It could have come from a Richardson operative/advisor, who was unauthorized to make it official or public and the campaign had to backstep a bit.
Watch your accusations ... or prove them. I don't believe you can.

14. Simple, most are unnamed sources and the Biden & Richardson camps deny the deal. |
|
You're not going to lie about something like that.
But these rumors benefit Obama as the rumor is blared out but the denials are whispered.
WTF is the point of a deal if you do not make it public and explain exactly what is going on to your own supporters?

They are the beneficiary and some of these rumors were first reported here @ DU as coming from Obama's blogs before the more MSM whisper campaign began.

You know that when it comes down to it these candidates will throw their support to Obama. They just can't admit it publicly because they do not want to discourage voters from choosing them.
It must suck to see such a righteous mutiny taking down Her Majesty's Ship.

http://thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/01/03/obama-will-get-richardsons-second-choice-votes/Barack Obama’s drive to win tonight’s Iowa caucuses is getting a boost from two of his putative rivals. After earlier winning the support of Dennis Kucinich, Obama’s campaign has reached an agreement with Bill Richardson for the second-choice votes of Richardson supporters in caucuses where the New Mexico governor can’t clear the threshold for competition, according to a senior Obama campaign adviser. The adviser estimated that the deal puts Mr. Obama in position to claim support from roughly half of the 15 percent of Democratic caucus-goers expected to support second-tier candidates. In return, the Obama adviser said, Obama forces will lend support to Mr. Richardson at caucuses where Mr. Obama turns out more backers than he needs to win any additional delegates.
